|Bio and Links|
I recently read on another bio, "our ancestors can't tell us where they are buried, we have to find them." So true. I'm so thankful to all the volunteers that have registered the graves in their areas. My personal goal is to help register graves in my area that will hopefully help others locate the final resting places of their loved ones. |
Please remember that while FindAGrave is a great tool to use in genealogy research, the clear mission of FindAGrave is to register the graves. If you are new to FindAGrave, please click on the "Help with FindAGrave" menu selection and read the FAQ before starting.
Yellow daffodils I've placed on a memorial usually signifies a connection to me in some way.
I'm happy to transfer memorials within the FindAGrave guidelines found in the FAQ (and I'm somewhat flexible on that). To request a transfer, click the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial and then "Suggest a Correction" tab to send me a note requesting the transfer, indicate HOW you are related, and don't forget to provide your Member ID. I'll consider all requests, but you might want to consider building a Virtual Cemetery (see FAQ).
I'm also more than happy to provide links where the final disposition is known or add additional information. Again, click the "Edit" tab and "suggest a correction" to send this information.
A word about photos I've placed on memorials. I'll gladly give you permission to use my photos if you ask me, indicate that I have granted you permission, and provide a link to their FindAGrave memorial. I have found several of my photos posted in family trees on the web without my permission and without a source to FindAGrave. This is a copyright violation and poor research sourcing. Again, please just do the right thing and ask if you'd like to use anything I have posted on any of the FindAGrave memorials.
To all the volunteers that walk through long forgotten, overgrown, tick and snake infested cemeteries, taking photos of all gravestones (even broken or half buried ones), and create memorials, thank you. Those gravestones may disappear or become completely unreadable in the future. For your efforts in registering the graves, thank you for all you do.

|Mark Stanley||J L Stanley/McCord Cemetery|
I just now found the photo you have posted of the headstone for J L Stanley, as well as another J L Stanley (infant) and F F Stanley (infant) in McCord Cemetery. There is a possibility that he is my great-great-grandfather. Do you know if there are any records kept on burials at that cemetery? Or who I could check with for more information on these individuals? Many thanks for your help!
|Diane||RE: James & Susan Soapes stone in Mt. Hebron Cem|
Thank you for your reply & also for posting the photo so I know about this problem. James & Susan were my 2G Grandparents. I will see if I can find someone local to check on it for me.

Thank you Sherryl, for the info so glad you found the correct burial of Martin's parents. I have passed my info on to those memorials and deleted the ones I made. Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Hi. Thank you for posting the photo of the James & Susan Soapes tombstone which has been knocked over and is lying on the ground. I didn't know that had happened! Do you live in the Benton County, AR area? I'm wondering if anyone has fixed it?? If it hasn't been repaired, I'll find someone to repair it for me as I don't want it left like that! I haven't been down there in several years as I live in another state. Thanks for the picture & telling me of its condition.

|Linda Rogers||Find a grave photo permission|
I would like permission to download the photo you took of Albert Sidney Vandeventer, memorial #13983100, at Evergreen Cemetery for my personal file, full credit to you of course. I would also like permission for any other photo of my family that you also took that I might find.
I will use these photos in my personal genealogy database and to share with family members.
Thank you for all that you do,
Linda Futrell Rogers

Sorry, I spelled her name wrong. It should be McGaffic. You have both Serilla "Jennie" McGaffic # 100342326 & her husband, William McGaffic # 100342354, could you transfer them both? My # is 48510818. Thanks, Jim

Mem # 100342326 - Sherryl, I spelled her name wrong when asking for a transfer. This is my wife's great grandmother. I'm sorry for the misinformation, & thanks. Jim

Serilla Elizabeth Jane "Jennie" McGaffey - would you consider tranferring Jennie's Memorial to me? She was my wife's great grandmother, through her son, James Earl (Billings) Osborn. My F/G # is 48510818. Thanks, Jim.

|Cynthia Duris Hirst||John C Vanlandingham 1923-1983|
I have posted a photo of the marker for John Vanlandingham. I will also post the cemetery location.
|Sandra Easley||Nellie Sisemore|
Sheryl, I can't find a NELLIE SISEMORE buried at Wesley. Mom always stopped there and left flowers. I have it in a family tree book that she is buried there. Her maiden name was YOUNG. She died April 9, 1950.
