I am happy to have you use my photo in your book.
Thats mainly the purpose for my taking these--so that others may use them in their family histories. If you need anything else --let me know.

Yes, that is fine. Thanks. The sun was perfect that day I took that photo almost 10 years ago.

Sylvester Campbell gravestone
Thank you very much for creating the memorial for Sylvester Campbell and adding the photograph. He was the first husband of my great-grandmother and probably didn't live to know of the birth of his son just three days before his death.
I am glad to know where he rests.

Phil, Thanks for the follow up.
Recheck and here is a little more information with additions and correction. Rechecked the original records on Fold3.

Pensioner's name: Caroline Leather, nee Conrad "widow" Residence Fairfield, OH; PO Amanda, Ohio.

Mustered into serviced the 27 day of Sept. 1864 at Circleville, OH to serve a one year term.

Soldier admitted to the hospital 16 April 1865 for gunshot wounds to the right thigh received in action and death occurred in hospital on 23 April 1865; Morehead City, NC. Died at New Bern NC of disease contracted in the line of duty.
... /s/ Surgeon General
note: His leg was amputated above the knee and became infected. In the Pension file is a
letter he wrote his wife saying he hoped he will make it back home.

The Neffs from Wythe Co., VA are our C line, the only immigrant line who belong to the Lutheran church which makes them easier to tract. We have a substantial amount of research on the family and I will email you a group sheet. Many thanks, Bill Neff

Oh, Phil. So sorry -- I missed your message entirely. I will try to make these changes to the photo linked to Charles Nichols, although not quite sure how to do so. Bear with me.
