I retired as an elementary school principal in 2000. As a person that sleeps only 4 hours a night that leaves 20 hours to fill. Sitting home is not an option. Now, I drive a school bus 5 hours a day and visit cemeteries every chance I get. I have never been to a cemetery that charged admission and seldom is there a crowd. My wife, Sandra, is of a like mind so it works well. We both enjoy the hunt and the thrill that comes with each discovery. Let us know if we can help. If you have additional information on one of my post or you are a relative and want ownership, I will gladly transfer it to you. Just ask. Oh! By the way I go by doc so I know it is F.A.G. So use Doc in the message!|
NOTE: Many times the family plot has names different from those on the headstone. I always attempt to provide a reference point for markers. Hope this is not confusing. I will be glad to post any accurate information on memorials followed by--provided by and your name. If you need an easy way to compute ages check out the website Ann Hamlin shared with me:
Ancestor Search Birthday Calculator.

The memorial referenced above for Zora F Houck has the wrong tombstone photo on it.

Thanks for posting the graves of my Great Great Grandparents, William E and America D Houck.
My Great Grandparents were D Belle Houck Jordan and John Mack Jordan (Find A Grave Memorial# 1319079940) Mack was the son of Lee J and Mary J Jordan All of them were from Ashe County NC. I have not been able to locate the graves of Lee J and Mary J Jordan both born c. 1857. Do you think we are related somewhere back there?
Thanks for what you do.

|Gail Ashe||QUEEN CEMETERY PICTURE|
Just want to let you know that the Queen Cemetery picture that you show on numerous memorials is incorrect - the church picture is correct, but the sign is not - it is of the Cecil Queen Family Cemetery and the arrow at bottom points on to Sols Creek Cemetery (which is sometimes called Queen Cemetery). There is only 2 or 3 graves in the Queen Family Cemetery, the Sols Creek Cemetery has numerous graves (there is a cemetery at the church and it continues above the road). Just wanted to let you know, since I can not remove the pictures. My Grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc and my husband grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc. are all buried in the "Sols Creek Cemetery" aka Queen Cemetery - we go there every year to a yearly decoration.

Hi Richard, a few days ago you transferred ownership of my m-I-l (Rachel Baker)memorial to me, for which I'm very thankful; and now is like to see if you could do the same with my father in law's memorial. His name is James O. Baker. Thank you for your help.

|Helen ||Caleb Bradham and his sister Josephine|
Hi Doc, first of all, I wanted to tell you that I admire and appreciate your commitment to education! Serving as a Principal and retiring and going back as a bus driver--right there with the kids, amazing! Adding to that all of the memorials you have done on Find-a-Grave, and wow, I am awed!
I do have a question, on the memorial for Josephine Bradham, it looks like you marked her and Caleb as half siblings. I am not related to them, but am trying to help a nurse friend who is researching Josephine. If they are truly half siblings, we hadn't found that elsewhere, and are excited to try to find the real parents of each sibling. Can you possibly tell us where you found they were half siblings? Do you by any chance know each parent. I will be searching also, and will surely let you know if I find anything. email@example.com
One more thing before I go, I saw this plaque just the other day and if you hadn't seen it, I thought you would appreciate it as I did. It was found in a cemetery in Bluefield, West Virginia is all I know of its origin unfortunately. I find it very meaningful. Best to you always, Helen
I can't seem to paste a picture of the plaque here, is there an email where I can send it? You can write to me at the email above.

Hey Doc, thanks for putting my beloved Mother in law's grave on Find A Grave.💜 I was wondering how to get ownership transferred to me? And, can you tell me, is ownership the same as "managed by"? My MIL info: Rachel Walker Fleming in Swain County NC. 4/8/47 TO 2/13/06. Thank you and your wife for all the work you do! Sincerely, Janie Baker
