Bio Photo My husband of 18 years passed away at 53 on Feb 20, 2016. Shock! Surprise! The underlying cause was hypertension, the silent killer....that's the truth. His only symptom was fatigue. Anyone with high blood pressure, not feeling well at all, see your doctor and get a CT scan or an MRI (not an x-ray). These can reveal an cardiac tamponade caused by torn aortic disection. That is: the heart sack fills with blood and crushes the heart.

HOPE for all dear grieving people - for all reasons.

There is a book I highly recommend; or may I say require. Dr. James C. Dobson, "When God Doesn't Make Sense" 2013, Tyndale House Publisher's, Inc. Even as a Christian of 33 years with great faith in Christ, I had lived in gripping fear that Christ would allow me also to be murdered, in my own home, as he did Linda a friend and neighbor. She was also a young mother of two small children.

I had to know WHY. Constantly I begged God to tell me "Why?" did she die that way? I pleaded that he give my soul rest from the mystery and explain it all to me. Why wasn't He answering me? If only I knew the reason, I was sure I would live free from fear.

One sunny afternoon on my patio, after praying "why?" for 33 years without an answer, there on page 88 in the book "I happened to be reading", was the entire answer. In the middle of page 88 was God's answer to me.

I was about to be set free from the mental anguish. It occurred in a way I really didn't expect and the answer was not what I expected.

Quote from page 88, "Probably the most important thing I learned in this entire process is this: I became deeply aware that there were TWO CHOICES that were only up to me to make: One was to continue in my anger from frustration at God and follow the path of miserable despair I was on. The other choice was, to think upon this...His [God's] ways are not always what we would do.... I must chose my personal freedom by only this: TO LET GOD BE GOD! Remember what I always knew: only God knows and " sometimes" its better we don't know. I don't know how all this fits together. But I decided to let God be God. I will never understand all the reasons nor how it all fits together."

I felt a 100,000 pounds weight lift from my shoulders when I too made the decision to let God be God. And leave it at that! Oh that indescribable peace that flooded my soul was like a drink of fresh, cold water. "Let God be God."

I saw your photo request at Tulpehocken Trinity in Millardsville and I will get to it by the end of Fall. However, you asked how her name was spelled on the tombstone. It is Lauk according to the Tulpehocken UCC Cemetery Record by the Tulpehocken Settlement Historical Society. She is Row 15 #13 in the old cemetery. #11 is Sarah and #12 is Hanna. Spouse Jacob is Row 17 #1.

I am a descendant of Margaretha and have never been able to find her family. Can you tell me where you got her birth date and place of birth from. Thank you.

Please either delete your memorial of my Mom back to me as I requested earlier. I prefer to manage family memorials that I add on my own. Memorial weekend I spend hours to travel to three states to clean and decorate family and friends graves. This is not a hobby of mine it is an obligation to those who have gone on.

Thank you.

Sorry if there isn't much info. I haven't finished with it yet. This is my Mom and I would prefer to keep it.

This is Sons of the American Revolution Patriot Ancestor #P-269040 ( Your photo of his headstone would make an excellent addition to his record, with your permission?

Hi Sally

I have uncovered court documents that show the JG Reinhard that died in 1778 is actually the son of this person.
I am on new PC now and as soon as I can get to my old records, I can share that with you. I found it on family search.
Have a good day

Are we related?
Hi Sally,
I was doing research on my Mothers family and came accross the "Find a grave" website. My Mothers is a daughter of Russell and Irene Deppe and I noticed your name as a contributor to Russell's site. You mentioned you missed Grandpa so I realized you might be a cousin of mine? Except I dont remember a cousin Sally?
If you are my cousin, we need to catch up on our familys history and share memories of Grandpa Russell Deppe, as I was very fond of him too!

67000325 - Elizabeth Barbara Gucker Ohl
Sally, Let me express my condolences for the loss of your husband. My husband who is 55 had a serious health scare earlier this year so I cannot imagine how you must feel and are still probably in shock.
I hope you and your family are doing okay.

In regard to the above grave I seem to have found a duplicate photo under my direct ancester (5th great grandmother), Eva (Efa) Elizabeth Gucker Ohl. See #73168204. Some further digging at shows that Eva Elizabeth is born in 1735, but Elizabeth Barbara was born in 1731. They both married "Ohl". I'm no expert at this stuff, so I maybe off the mark, but if you had any time to revisit Elizabeth Barbara perhaps you can advise which Elizabeth goes with the gravestone.

Thank you, Suzanne Goldberg

Sorry I understand and hope you can get the other one deleted. I had it happen to me and if you check with the administrator in find a grave you find out that the first one entered will be the one that stays and the second one gets deleted so you if you cant get it deleted you may want to transfer information to the other one so your work is not gone someday. Thanks :)

I am sorry that I did not finish this project.
Shirley and Gene Butler were my parents and I would just as soon keep these and update when I can.
