Re: # 78498200

Hello! Any chance you know anything about Chester Arthur Baker, divorced husband of Pansy Justice Baker? I believe Chester was my grandfather.

Thank you very much,

Debbie Jones

RE: Peter Bertine
Thanks, Susan. Do you have dates for Mary Rodman, mother of Stephen and John Bertine? I show Stephen as being born in 1743, so she must have been born around 1715 +/-.

I found a couple of famous Bartines:

90245584 is a nephew of Peter's and 6307546 is a grandson.

That's amazing that the author is still out and about at 100. There's an LDS center fairly near me, so I'll probably get down there tomorrow to look at her book.

RE: Peter Bertine
Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry your computer died - I've been there.

To add to the confusion, many of the Bertines changed the spelling to "Bartine".

Thanks for the Bertine "roadmap". I just found out yesterday that there's a book about the Bertines: "The Bertine Family: Pierre Bertine - 1686: descendants and allied families" (1994). It's available on-line through, but you have to be at one of the LDS Family History Centers to view it.

Do the Park Service people have any records? Is there someone there I should talk to?

Are you a descendant of Peter Bertine (53315992)?
I'm a descendant of the "other" Peter Bertine (54124429). Are they related?

RE: Thank you so much
Re: 92933524 was part of the crew killed with my uncle in WWII, but don't know the family-so no there isn't anyone I know to transfer this too, but thank you for your offer. It is nice to be able to view the grave site without having to travel to it. Thanks again for the work you do.
