Born and raised in Jackson Michigan, the daughter of Glenn P and Hazel E Moon-Bunker. |
I am always looking for any informaiton on my Bunker,McMillin, Moon and Connell Families and my husband Terry's, Bickley or Hake families. Bunkers, McMillin and Moon, Connell's are mostly from Michigan and surrounding areas, I just learned my 3rd great grand father Jeremiah Bunker I am looking for was in fact his parents were Stephen Mapes Bonker and Anna Acker-Bonker. Jeremiah's children changed the spelling of their last name from Bonker to Bunker! I even found all this out by checking with one of their Ascendants still living in Monmouth Illinois as well as visiting the cemeteries their!
Bickley's are from Virginia, and surrounding as, Kansas and Washington state. Hakes are from Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.If anyone has any information on any of these families please contact me.

Glennda, I have a memorial I would like to add but I want to make sure I have the right cemetery.
On the death certificate it indicates the person is buried in the Bickley Family Cemetery, Castlewood, Va. The funeral home was Lebanon Funeral Home, Lebanon, VA. I notice the cemetery is only 70 some percent photographed. Addie Foster Bell was b. 1889 and d. 1966. Thanks so much.

No. The stones were in really bad shape. I took pictures of all survivint ones with a high resolution camera, then used photoshop to increase the contrast to the maximum level. If you were able to see the stone with the naked eye, you would not be able to see it as clearly as in the photo, unfortunately

Beyond the shared DNA of my mother and your husband, plus dozens of others from the Bickley line, my information for the James Beckley/Charles William Bickley connection comes from RootsWeb. Here's one page in particular of note, with sources:
Like you, I'd just like my tree to be correct and am open to other possibilities. Thanks for your interest, hope we can solve the mystery together!
All the Best,
|Linda Crandall||Benjamin Crandall|
I'm sorry, but the Benjamin & Rebecca (Curry) Crandall that are buried in Wolfe Cem. are not your relatives. This Benjamin was Born, lived all his life & died in Floyd co., IN. Rebecca was his only wife. Your relative was born in NY, wife's name was Julia & by 1850 was living in Michigan. Try tracing your Benjamin. If you can't find anything further on him, search for the younger children. Good luck! Linda

FYI, I've found quite a few Bickleys whose name transitioned to Beckley so far, including two of Charles William Wesley's own children, James R and Mary Catherine. But I'm still still searching for the clue to my own ancestor's name change. I'd have thought I was on the wrong path except for the dozens of DNA connections to Bickleys, including you!
All the best,

Google: Dale Carter 1744, click on the heading of DALE CARTER KILLED AT FT BLACKMORE, at rootsweb.ancestry.com, this shows the parents as Charles Carter & Lucy(Morgan)Carter. That's another place I found it.
|Joyce Fannin||RE: Dale Carter|
I don't remember the photo for Dale Carter, I do have a copy of birth Certificate, saying that Charles and Lucy Morgan Carter are his parents. That memorial is not one of mine. But I sure want it to be correct. I also have a birth certificate stating the John Rhea Carter's parents were Dale Carter & Mary (Bickley)Carter, hope this helps, I want it to be correct. The Dale Carter son of Peter Carter has a different birthday.
Thank you, I do believe it needs to be looked at further, give me a couple of day.

They say we are all related

John Bickley & Mary Hurt are my 6 great grandparents, thank you.

I've been researching my Beckley ancestors and assume them to be related to the Bickleys, but have yet to discover when or where the name transitioned. Would you happen to have run across any information about this in your research on your husband's line?
Thanks in advance,
