Bio Photo Have been researching family roots for several decades now, and like the saying -- "Each person is a bus on which all his ancestors ride." (^_^)

And just as an aside, please do not transfer a memorial to me just because I have suggested an "edit" to one which you manage. I have lots of data for folks who are in no way related to me, and when I contribute that info to a memorial manager, that does not mean that I am making a request for a transfer.

Find A Grave Memorial# 69041576
Hi Lou: I am working on my Gambill family genealogy and would like to know where info about Amos Plott's second wife's surname and previous married name are recorded. Cemetery records? I believe Amos first married one of my Wilkes Co NC Gambill Cousins- Frances Fanny Gambill - she died in 1846 (though the findagrave memorial had 1816- she was married to Amos AFTER 1816 and was the mother of his children) afterwards - by 1850 he was married SARAH. The curious thing is who was living with them - a BROTHER and niece of Fanny's (John and Emily Gambill). I found old newspaper reports that John's wife who was a BROWN divorced him ~1834 ish - so I believe he ended up at his sister's place. He stayed with his son also - as he was listed with him on the 1860 census but the son was killed in the civil war so back he went in 1870 and 1880 living with SARAH who was widowed from Amos by then... because of the circumstance that he was living with SARAH throughout 3 decades give or take - I thought they too must be a brother and sister. If you have any documented "insights" on Sarah's background it would be most appreciated! Much thanks for the memorial! Nancy

Thanks for the update on Lona Plott Roels. Interesting story about Montraville Plott (breeder of the famous Plott hounds in North Carolina), that she's his daughter.
