I started out just responding to photo requests for Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, Missouri. The cemetery was established by the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in 1904. |
I found myself walking up and down the same rows over and over hunting names. I then decided I would take a certain section, record the names, come home and check to see if they were listed. If not, I would go back and get a picture.
Then I found out that Jackson County Genealogical Society published a book in 1997, with the cemetery assisting with information, which I could purchase.
So now I am taking a section at a time and in some cases re-doing my photos.
I am happy to transfer memorials to family; just let me know. Plus, my photos are for public use should you wish to copy them.

Thank you, Martha. Appreciate all the work you know. I known how time consuming and confusing it can be at times.

Mae was my aunt's aunt. Her given name was actually Mary Elizabeth - Mae was a nickname that she went by. I'm working on the Harder side of my aunt's family for her children and grandchildren to have a record of in the future.
I'm confused about the calculated age that appears on Mae's memorial. Is that the age that was recorded in the cemetery records? If so, it's off a bit. I calculated that she was actually 28yrs 4mo 12 da, based on her birthdate which I know to be correct.
Just thought perhaps you might want to check it out.
Lot owner: H Harder was her father, Hudson Race Harder, and William Turnbow was Mae's husband. Not sure which of them owned the lot for sure.

Thanks for helping me getting it connected right! ;)

Ruth, sorry...I think that was a glitch with the site. I was trying to connect her parents and her husband's memorial # was in the field. When I clicked the submit button, I got an error stating that she was already connected to that person as her spouse, so I had to delete the number from the field to submit the edit for her parents. Please add her parents, but keep her husband as is. :)
Thank you so much!!

Thank you for the making correction, Martha. Happy New Year!
May I use your photo of the grave of Frances Josephine Trowbridge on Familysearch.org?

I forgot to tell you that I have seen your name on Find A Grave for many years. Your name appears on memorials for many of my relatives.
I admire your work. Bless you for all you do.

Hello. The 1880 U.S. Census at familysearch.org shows Alexander and Marian B GLOVER McLees and their children.
Thresa B GLOVER and her sister, Adda, are living in the household as servants.
After Marian died, Alexander married Thresa.
Marian is the mother of all of Alexander's children. I have not found a clue as to the relationship of Marian and Thresa, but they have the same maiden name.
This was confusing to me, too. I spent many hours figuring it out. I have put all sources I found at familysearch.org.
I have requested a link to Marian's memorial 66387929 to be added to Alexander's memorial. Perhaps after that, things will be less confusing.
Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving

I am sorry but Im about 30 miles from that old
cemetery. The stone is probably unreadable.
I would put in a request for another picture and hopefully someone closer can take a better picture
