Bio Photo I've been adding and linking the Sebastian Lasher family that arrived in Germantown, New York in 1710 for the last few years.

If you are related I would love to hear from you and we are distant cousins.

RE: Franklyn Dailey
The Dailey plot is one of the largest and has more headstones on it than any other plot I've seen in this cemetery. I was processing the requests first. I plan to get to all the rest of Dailey's tomorrow for posting.

Hi Janet - I got the Naylor name from her obit (I just put her obit on there) - where it mentioned her brother William Naylor - if you think her maiden name is Lasher and you have her parents - please go ahead and send me the corrections. Tom

RE: Ralph Haskins
Credit doesn't really matter to me. If they are related to you then it should really be you that oversees it. If you want to send a message to me here when you build it, I'll attach the photos. So I get credit for those. Sound fair?

RE: Lashers at East Liberty Cemetery
Glad I could help. He probably has a stone that is not on the same lot as his parents. I like to enter memorials for old burials, preferably people who were buried before 1940. I only do the newer ones if they are on the same lot. Request a photo and next time I am out that way, I will look for his stone. Geo

RE: Mathews (Matheis) Family
Dear Janet,

Thank you so very much and for the advice! I have also heard from Susan and she has transferred the duplicate to me as well so I will move forward. I appreciate all the work you have done over the years and for recording the Matheis family ... I have just started my genealogical search within the last couple of months. Your memorial for Willie and the picture of his stone were key in our search, visually helping us to find John and Maria's resting place because decades of official records for the Union Cemetery in Mellenville had been lost. We had also been looking for Evangeline Ruth Matheis Horton, their daughter, my mother's mother, my maternal grandmother. This week I obtained a copy of her death certificate so we have confirmation that she is buried there. We suspected she was there and 5 of us had recently walked the entire cemetery, not finding a stone. With the death certificate we knew the cemetery and the funeral home but then found the funeral home records were also destroyed, in a fire in 2008 but with information on the death certificate we now believe that the stone fragments next to John, Maria and Willie are her stone. My mother was 8 months old when Evangeline died, never knew her or much about this side of the family. This has been a special journey for her finding mother, grandparents & uncles resting places. Your work helped us so much and your generosity allowing us to overseeing these memorials in Find a Grave is also very special. Many thanks! Nancy

I cleaned the headstone as best I could and uploaded it today. I was unable to make out the middle initial. I also edited his DOD on the site as it just had the year. Next week I will upload photos for Lottie, Minnie and Herbert. The site has Herbert as HARRY, DOD as 1829. That information was apparently taken from a transcription of the cemetery. The headstone says HERBY, also with his individual stone. The headstone has DOD as Mar 9, 1889. [The death record I found has 1888] So I will check and let you know. Lasher Family is in section 55, graves 1-4.

Mathews (Matheis) Family
Hi Janet,

My family rests in Union Cemetery, Mellenville, NY ... I believe you oversee memorials for John Mathews, Maria Weil Mathews, and Willie Mathews. Their last names are actually Matheis. I'm sure the source list you referenced was incorrect as their monuments are very visible and easy to read and I have pictures and other documents to support. Would you be willing to transfer them to me to oversee? I have listed their numbers below as a reference. I would like to add their other children and link them all together and manage them. I understand if you prefer to oversee and I could send you information, monument pictures and relationships for that purpose. I am John and Maria's great grand daughter and I have just added their only daughter Evangeline Ruth Matheis Horton. Many thanks. Nancy

I just looked up his obituary and he is buried in that cemetery. I will make a memorial and look for a stone next time I am there. Geo
