I use to use chalk on old stones, and was unaware of any damage it may do. I no longer use chalk on stones. If anyone has a listing I placed a stone photo on in which I used chalk, and they want that photo removed, just let me know and I will remove it. As agreed by find a grave, the chalked photo's will be removed as new, readable photo's are placed on the listing.|
I just want to let everyone know, I do read all of the messages left on my page, and appreciate hearing that my efforts are not in vain. I am sorry though that I only answer the ones that are a question. I do appreciate all of your messages.
Thank You for your messages

I have found that I can sometimes read stones better when I do an aluminum foil rubbing. I usually make a 'before' and 'after' photo and post both pictures on the memorial. Since one of Find A Grave's initial purposes is to be a virtual cemetery, family members will want to see the stone as it is in order to feel they have 'visited' the grave.
For an example of this, see memorial #167286149, Mary Susan (Stark) Boman.
Thanks again for your help.

I'm sorry. When I searched online for Benjamin, there was a listing on n Find a grave. I clicked on the link and I saw your profile next to Benjamin Austin's grave picture.
