Jellis Fonda Burial Confirmed
Laura, for some reason my e-mails are not getting through to your gmail address. Anyway, I found the citation for Jellis' burial in the Fonda Cemetery in Glenville:
A History of Schenectady During the Revolution - Individual Records of Service D to K
http://www.schenectadyhistory.org/resources/hanson/revwar_d_k.html
"Fonda, Jellis J.
Born January 13, 1751; died in 1839. Buried in the family cemetery in Glenville. (..)"
I'm not in the area, but it would be worthwhile to have someone explore the cemetery and take photos. I wonder if Jellis' gravemarker was somehow buried or removed. I'll put up a photo request for all the memorials.

Fonda Cemetery in Glenville
Thanks for all your work on the Glenville Cemeteries. I did not know who else was buried in the Fonda cemetery, so you have provided 6 new interments for the family... that's a rare find! I did not have anything on Louisa Maria Fonda, so she is totally new!!
Since Jellis/Jelles' gravestone was not recorded in the 1967 transcription project it may not be present or visible... I put a note on his memorial to that effect. But since all the others are immediate family its probably a good bet that he is there too. I'll try to verify the source of the narrative I found stating he was buried there.
Yes, if you don't mind... please transfer the other 6 memorials to me... I try to look after all the Fonda family memorials and the database and website. I have some additional info such as obituaries I can add and I'll maintain it going forward.
Thanks again!!

Hannah Cady
Hi Laura,
Do you have any additional information about Hannah? I am distantly connected a couple of ways, her dates don't exactly line up for Calvin's mom, but are pretty close. "My" Hannah did have a daughter named Persis, who I know very little about, so matching stones for Hannah and Persis is very intriguing. My info has her death at Sand Lake, NY but burial at Hillside would make sense if Persis lived in Burnt Hills, and Hannah lived with her.

Thanks!
Fred

PS are you connected to Hannah?

RE: Old Mount Ida Cemetery
A lot of the info for that cemetery comes from the DAR's 1923 booklet. They may or may not be on the same stone; in adding info to findagrave I sometimes copied the info in batches like that.

Some of the Simmons are on the same stone, though. Samuel's is on the far west side of the cemetery I think near where the ground rises to start matching the level of Pawling Avenue.

I have scanned some of the interment records and in some cases they have parents' names. See https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7Mt-S77wZKfZ1JCZEtRcFY5eTQ We're hoping to have the original books scanned this year, because the old microfilms were done very poorly - too dark, out of focus at times, some missing pages, lots of junk on the lens. For 150175743 I just found a middle name and maiden name.

Murray graves at Foster Hill
Laura, thank you for getting out to Foster Hill and locating the Murray graves. I'm really glad this got taken care of.....it looks as though in a few more years, the inscriptions would have been complete undecipherable. Thank you for preserving a piece of history through your grave documentation and photographs. Sharon
