You entered a findagrave.com memorial for Danial Hostitler, #14104892 in 2006. You later transferred managagement of the memorial to someone else, saying you got the information from cemetery records which you lost due to a computer crash.
Danial is my great-grandfather.
Can you advise me where I might find the Hill City cemetery records (Camas County)? I live in Ohio.
I would appreciate any information you can give me.
|Celesta Dailey||Samuel Davis corrections|
First I want to thank you and Find A Grave for the wonderful service that you provide. I use find a grave often.
In the Colfax Washington Cemetery you have Samuel T Davis listed as the husband of Sarah Davis. Sarah was married first to George Steward in Oregon, second to Nelson Davis who is buried in Colfax as is Sarah. Nelson and Sarah each had ten children I believe. They were the parents of the half children listed. Also there is an infant listed and buried at the Spalding Cemetery at Almota with Samuel and Sarah as the parents. Sarah would have been 57 years old at that time and was 35 years older than Samuel-not likely the mother of the infant or wife of Samuel. At this time I don't see Samuel being a son of Nelson and there were a lot of Davis's in the area.
I don't have all of the possible additions and corrections quite figured out but can let you know when I have it correct. I just don't know who this Samuel T., 1867-1930, buried in Albion is.
Thank you to anyone who can help correct this.
Again thank you for all of your good work.
Thank you so much for transferring my Uncle Joe Johnson to me; my mother at age 95 is the only surviving sibling.

I just wanted to Thank You for the transfer of Hallie June Peavey's parents. This was very kind and thoughtful of you. I am distantly related but dearly loved Hallie June. She was an inspiring wonderful lady and I'm sure her parents were an influence in the lovely person she became. They are all dearly missed. Again Thank You. Best Wishes, Lettie

I am looking at two Find A Grave Memorials for Elizabeth Agnes “Lizzie” (Girton or Girten) Hettrick:
# 13620073 by Floral ~Lady created March 14, 2006 and;
# 105973321 by Doreen created February 28, 2013.
They are so similar yet there are so many Deviations:
The maiden name spelling;
The death date and place;
One shows Lillian Agnes Hettrick Zumwalt Vigneron as a child, the other does not;
One shows some Biographical Text the other does not;
One shows parents as Thomas Ward Girton (1832 - 1914), Helena Elizabeth Henkle Gerton (1849 - 1901), the other does not show parents.
One shows the siblings as Charlotte M. Girton Wilson (1874 - 1935)*, Charlotte Girton Wilson (1874 - 1935)*, Elizabeth Agnes Girton Hettrick (1879 - 1932), Charles Icabhod Girton (1884 - 1949)* the other shows none.
One shows the Burial location as Rimrock Cemetery, Garwood, Kooteni Co., ID, the other indicates the burial location is unknown.
Would it be asking too much for the two of you to get together and resolve the issues? And delete the one of the Memorials. This is important to me as I am currently reviewing all of the members of the descendents of Ichabod B. Henkle of which Elizabeth Agnes Girton was one granddaughter; she is shown in two family publications: This person is shown as Elizabeth Agnes Gerton (sic) on page 384, "The Henckel Family Records," No. 9, published July, 1932 by The Henkel Press, New Market, Virginia. Descendants of Jacob Henkle, Sr., of Oregon. And as person 5-11-6163 on page 472 and 615. "The Henckel Genealogy 1500-1960 Ancestry & Descendents of Rev. Anthony Jacob Henckel 1668-1728", by Junkin; Published by the Henckel Family Association, 1964.
I am the Henkle Family Association Historian for this branch of the family and have many records and files dating back to the 1500’s in Germany, the immigration of the Rev. Anthony Jacob Henckel and his family to the colonies in 1717, so you can see my interest is getting the above issue correct. We will be holding our 108th reunion this coming June and will celebrate the 300 years that the family has been in the North American Continete.
This is what I currently have on the parents, siblings and children (on whom review has not been completed) of Elizabeth Agnes Girton.

|Gloria Howell||James Steven (#46623442)|
Let me give you a quick overview of the situation. Alice Gravelle Steven, wife of Jim, is my aunt. Jim is NOT buried at this cemetery. He actually is buried in Spokane. When his wife, Alice passed away she was cremated. Jim illegally dug a hole by her parent's grave and put some of her ashes. He then, somehow, placed the headstone with his name and hers. I'm sure the cemetery has no idea nor gave permission.

Although we suspected her maiden name was Hendricks, we didn't have proof, but we have found that Hendricks is indeed her maiden name.

I would like to request permission to use the Hannah Elizabeth Maynard Stanley (Mem# 15957094) and her husband, John Bennett Standley Sr. (Mem# 15957173 photos at the Colton City Cemetery in Colton WA.
We would use this to prove birth and death dates for a Daughters of the American Revolution Application for their great, great granddaughter. The quality of your photos was outstanding.

Thought you both might compare notes and consider that these might be the same person, hard to imagine they are maybe father and son and not buried in the same cemetery.
