Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the 1980's I started researching my Linn ancestors (without benefit of computer) but got busy with my sons' activities and put it on hold. In 1999 a cousin got me involved with my Steinberg ancestors and I have been going full speed ahead ever since.

Upon graduating from the University of Illinois my father obtained employment in the State of Washington, far from any relatives. My ancestors (after entering the USA)settled in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Montana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey - I want to experience first hand where and how they lived so I travel the country obtaining data, meeting people, seeing the sights and tramping cemeteries. I missed the "cousin experience" growing up and think that is why I enjoy genealogy so much -- meeting new cousins (who cares if they are 1st or 10th cousins)and sharing our family histories.

I am researching Linn, Gibson, Weir, Scott, Polk, Steinberg, Koerner, Mitten, Bennett, Switzer (Swisher), Slonaker, Shaw, Goff, Townsend, McCarty and Whitehead, Miller, Schroen, Glabe, Schafer/Schaefer/Shafer. I am also reseaching Dishon, Deshon, DeShon, Deschamps and Herrold for my two sons.

Hi Jan,

Actually they are his nephews. Ken is my dad.

Hi Jan,
I fulfilled your request for the Fishback photo at Colusa -- sorry there was not a permanent marker. He appears to have been military, so I'm not sure why this is. Perhaps one is on order since his wife recently passed.

I also noticed that you have 2 requests for Fairhaven in Santa Ana, which is near my home. Fairhaven is most unfriendly to volunteers and will not give us info. The cemetery is very large, so walking it to find a marker is not possible. However, if you call and explain you are family, you can get the plot info and add it to the memorial using the edit feature. Your requests will then be much more likely to be fulfilled, as this area does have several active volunteers.

Nellie and John Fultz graves
There are no markers for Nellie or John. The cemetery map shows one unmarked grave between Robert and Lettie, but it only makes sense that both are buried there. John died first, followed by Nellie. Arthur, the infant died just a few months before Lettie. Again, I'll put a couple more photos on later today.

Nellie and John Fultz graves
Hi Jan. I'll add more notes and a couple more photos later. At far left [closest in this photo] is Lettie's husband, Robert Forbes. At the far right [farthest away in this photo] is Lettie and Robert's infant child Arthur. Lettie's marker is the tall marker. Nellie and John are presumed to be buried between the two monument markers.

RE: 115740989 Harriet Haagen Johnson
Hi Jan,

Thanks for your messages. I confirmed that Harriet was buried in Dunnstown. Someone recently sent me a copy of "Clinton County Pennsylvania Vital records by Robert Russell Schadt. It's been of immense help.

RE: Memorial# 152790972

It does appear they are the same person. Interesting name twist. I've changed his name in his Memorial to what is on his gravemarker: Frank Baker Patterson.

RE: Tex Jones
No worries. The Jones family are close friends of ours and I'm just happy that someone took care of recording the memorial. :)
