IF I HAVE ADDED A MEMORIAL OF YOUR FRIEND OR CLOSE RELATIVE AND YOU WOULD LIKE TO MANAGE IT, JUST ASK! If I am NOT a close relative, I am HAPPY to transfer memorials.|
Many of my entries were old transcriptions of small country cemeteries and if you have family information to add, that is wonderful!
I have searched cemeteries, libraries, and courthouses for about 19 years. I have only recently begun to photograph headstones and add records through transcribing.

How can I confirm that Richard Hastings and Mary Polly Banta are his parents. I believe that is the case, but Indiana does not have birth certificates prior to 1882. Would his parents be listed on his birth certificate. He is my gg grandfather. The Banta family has a very interesting family history. Fran

|Dale O. Stillwell Jr.||William Lee Brines|
Thank you for the photo for Mr. Brines memorial.
|John Christopher||Thomas Baird|
Hi, thanks for looking into it. The confusion was from information giving his DOB as 1786 & wife as Elizabeth Ford. In fact he was born April 19 1767 to the best of my knowledge. I have children of Thomas Baird as: Joseph, Sarah, Richard & John, my great-great-grandfather. That's about all I know.

Would you happen to know anything of Thomas Baird, pioneer settler in Keensburg, Il in 1816 (from KY) and the father of John Baird? Thanks for photo of gravestone of John Baird, my great-great-grandfather.
|Gary Monigold||RE: Dicksons at Cedarville Cemetery|
You are welcome and sorry about creating dups. I haven't seen anything about why so many folks were moved in the 1940's. I googled it, but couldn't find anything. Maybe some family did it after moving and it caught on with others? Back then I'm sure it wasn't as expensive to move them as today? I know some were moved here in Freeport, IL after new cemeteries were opened. Thank you for all your work on Find A Grave. Have a great day!
I think that Marie Jones Akins is the correct person. I didn't save her obituary and am no longer subscribing to newspapers.com but am able to see the OCR version of the obituary, which mentions a brother, Sheldon Jones and a sister Amelia Lang. Amelia's memorial on Find a Grave links her to George and Tabitha.

|Francie Tibbett Escovedo||Sand Hill - Leander Brown|
There is a birth year of on the memorial of 1855. I was wondering if you could tell me where that birthdate came from? According to his military papers, Leander was 22 when he enlisted in 1865. That would make this birth year roughly 1843.
|George Del Monte||The Two John Adam Leipolds|
Jeanielogy, what's the take-away with Flora Gardner Leipold having two husbands, both named John Adam Leipold, III, having the same birth year but different death years?
