John William Astling, # 21611641
Thanks for your reply and for checking into this. It would be nice to add to the memorials for Addie and John as well as to submit corrections for Addie (I see those I forwarded for John have not been accomplished). I will hold off on edits for Addie until I hear back from you.

Thanks again,

John William Astling, # 21611641
Hi Julie,

You seem to have an Astling family connection so I thought I'd mention that I have located a son of Joseph Sr in Louisiana.

I have submitted edits for him, but he was born in Illinois and died in Harris County, Texas, which is in the Houston area.

My hunch is that he had a still living son, and I believe that Addie Astling, who is buried in this same cemetery, may be that son's wife. I have yet to obtain a maiden name on her, but I am suspecting it is Murray and her maiden name has been wrongly placed on her memorial. I am also suspecting that her husband may be the Reverend John Astling of the Bellwood / Natchitoches Parish area.

Do you have any info that you wish to share concerning Addie, her parentage, this possible son?

As a side note; I have taken photos for John, but his military stone was covered with a bit of earth and only a corner was visible. I nearly missed it altogether. I am hoping to get back out to the cemetery to see if I can dig it out and clean it up a bit before posting photos.

I did submit link requests through his wife, Vivian's, memorial manager. It seems they divorced. She would be # 22026559.

Thanks in advance for any feedback offered,

Ida Sabin
I have added the additional information on Ida Sabin in your behalf as well as linked them to her parents..

But I do not have any rights to the Memorial for Alvah Sabin it is maintained by Find A Grave as he is shown to be one of the famous people on Find A Grave and those are all now maintained by Find a Grave website and can not have links added to them. Alvah can be shown as the father of Benjamin on Benjamin's memorial but you will not see links on Alvah's actual memorial..

Here is Alvah's link numbers: 7181014
