This is my engagement photo taken in November of 2004 and in 2006 I married (for the first time) my husband Steve Romero. We live in Moreno Valley, CA and share our home with our 2 dogs, Max and Maddie and our 2 cats, Roxie and Sadie.

I have been researching my ancestors for over 40 years now. Started out with pen and pencil and wrote letters and more letters to funeral homes, city and county and state clerk's offices, libraries, cemeteries, and more.....did research the old fashioned way using an excel spread sheet. Finally found Family Tree Maker and Find A Grave.

Any photos posted by me of my family belong to me. If you are related and wish to use the photos with your relatives I DO INSIST THAT YOU MAKE SURE THAT YOU NOTE THAT I AM THE OWNER OF THESE PHOTOGRAPHS. Do not claim them as belonging to you. I do the same for any photos on find a grave that may link to my ancestors.

Please note that times are changing and I feel it is very important to put a woman's maiden name on her marker. So many times in the obits of long ago, the woman got only mention as "wife" - well hello, she had a name. Look at my memorials for my grandmother and for my Aunt #70887671 and #70887196.

When my twin sister and I went to the mortuary to have the markers created, the girl told me that maiden names were not put on markers. I said to her:
How many lines do I get? She replied: Four
Who is paying for the marker: She replied: you are.
So then I told her, you will put the names on the markers exactly as I tell you to do so.

Please note: This is NOT a numbers game, Nor a "who has who" game here. Some of us are serious about getting names & photos of headstones that are not going to be around and making memorial pages. That is what this is about, making/recording that person lived and died. Like many, I spend long, long hours either in a cemetery, or adding memorial pages to Findagrave.com. I would love to see some of the headstones of family members that were in the 1700 & 1800 of my family, but that isn't going to happen as many are gone.

It doesn't matter who has the memorial page, the important thing is that someone cared enough to make a memorial page to honor that person and that is what findagrave.com is all about. Honoring the deceased, NOT who has what memorial or how many that they have. Thanks!
