I have been a genealogy addict for more than 20 years. I serve on the board of directors and secretary to the historical society. I work full time and am continually trying to learn new things. |
I am really enthusiastic about web pages like "Find A Grave" because paying for genealogy research really "ticks me off". We can do so much by helping each other and just getting everything that we can documented and set "free" for everyone to use!
I welcome any corrections to my grave additions and will transfer to families. I would love for people to add biographies and personal data.

|Carolyn Smith||Gravesite "H,D"|
Wendy, I have reason to believe that the gravesite marked "H,D" is my great-grandfather David Hovis and I would like to learn how to find the records of internment for Markert Cemetery if you have any information for me. My grandfather, John B. Hovis is buried there in an unmarked grave, and his plot is on the bank nearest to the one marked "H,D". I believe that he was buried there next to his father, David. Do you know who is the keeper of those records? I am new at this genealogy research and do not know where to find the best information. Thank you for any help you can offer! Carolyn Hovis Smith

I am doing the Grimes family history of McKean County, PA. Charles has a gravestone in the Grimes District Cemetery/Port Allegany, PA. His one wife's name and dates are on the stone. He as another gravestone in the Saint Marks Cemetery/Emporium, PA. As per his death certificate, he was buried in Emporium. His other wife, Clara, is in the Saint Marks Cemetery also. His parents [William Wallace and Palice(Maine) Grimes are in the Grimes District Cemetery.

Thanks for all the edits and links

I think you misunderstood my question. The stone has his birthdate but no death date. I know he has passed away. Either the picture could be a before he died picture, or the date just hasn't been added yet. I would just like to know if he is there.

I could not get my e-mail to you to go through?
What I wanted to ask you, is there any way, or do you know whether Neil, husband of Charmaine Donovan, is actually buried there. I have run into this a couple of times. The spouse ends up re-marrying and isn't in the first grave. That isn't the case of this couple, I don't think but he did just pass away in 2011, so I was wondering.
Also I wanted to say that I like what you say about having to pay for information. So much used to be free! How come Ancestry.com got control of everything?!!! Thanks for all you do to help folks.
