IMPORTANT NOTICE: Over the years I have left hundreds of memorial notes on Confederate veteran's FindAGrave memorial pages, using a particular Confederate Flag as a symbol. Recently I discovered that flag had been replaced with flowers. If you see one of my memorial messages left on a memorial page with flowers instead of the flag, please notify me so that I can make the appropriate changes.|
Sons of Confederate Veterans Compatriot - Camp No. 1921 - The Tallassee Armory Guards.
Please feel free to use/share photographs and other historical information I've posted to memorials.
The Chattahoochee Valley Historical Society has endorsed FindAGrave and as a member of that society I have visited many cemeteries and added graves/memorials on its behalf.
I manage several hundred memorials in Chambers County, AL that Hank Rogers transferred over to me before he became inactive with F.A.G.
Also, most of the very old newspaper items on my memorials are through the courtesy of F.A.G. Member #47182102 who has painstakingly transcribed volumes of "The LaFayette Sun", the official newspaper of Chambers County, Alabama.

|Donnie Blackstone ||RE: Blackstone|
I believe Judith Unknown Blackstone b.est.1775 that's in the 1840 Census is the lady named Mary Unknown Blackstone in the 1820 Census one of the Census is Pendleton District 1820, the area of Old Pendleton District had split it to Towns and County and it Was Pickens County, 1830 1840 so with the children that are listed on these Census looks like Mary Judith Blackstone maiden name unknown and the Census est. her birth at est. 1775,in all three, if she was Widowed by 1820 her husband Blackstone may have been in the War of 1812-15, I wish I could find a list of Blackstone men that died in South Carolina around this time, Thanks and anything you find on these Old Blackstone / Blackston family's send it to me Please, Thanks
|Donnie Blackstone ||RE: Blackstone|
Yes that's him but I can't find his father, I did find two John Blackstone Jr and Sr in 1820 Census Captain Elijah Jones District, Warren County, Georgia I'm thanking this maybe my set but still don't know his mother Mary Blackstone that is on the 1850 Census maiden name , if she is the Mary Blackstone buried at Mt Bethel Methodist Church Cemetary, Pickens County South Carolina (somerset) then this maybe a family Cemetery,,this is about all I got if you find anything else please contact me, Thanks

|Madoc55||Pike County Cemetery Survey|
The Alabama Historical Quarterly, Volume 35, 1973, has a survey done by the Pike County Historical Society. The survey spanned several years, with the last done in the early 1970's.
My wife's ancestors are from Pike County, so I downloaded the entire survey into PDF files. Then I converted the files to Excel 2016. I have the names grouped by cemeteries. Having finished the conversion, I decided to use Find a Grave to update the lists.
If you are interested, I could send the Allred Cemetery list to you for verification. I realize that graves could have been moved in the time between the end of the survey and now. If you like, I could send you my list for your perusal.
Thanks for the work you do

Actually, now I am sure where I got that date. She was last on the 1860 census and not on the 1870 census so you might just want to leave it blank and put in the Bio that she died between 1860 and 1870.
Sorry for the confusion,

Thanks so very much for the obit. My husband and the other sister left a little while ago to go up for the funeral. Marie had been very sick for the last couple of weeks and we were expecting this, but it is still sad. She was such a sweet sister-in-law.
