Hi Harry,
I'm just wondering which line of Cannon's you are from? My husband's grandfather was a Cannon. I also have a line of Cannons in my family, though I haven't been able to lay it out very clearly yet.

Thank you! There are so many William's and Bird's that it does get confusing.

Balthazar Baltus Ruple
Hi! I'm descended from the Ruples but haven't found out exactly where! Yet. (My ancestor is Amy Jane Ruple) But in my searching I came across your entry on Find-A-Grave for Balthazar Baltus Ruple, Memorial# 91811785 - either his birth date is wrong or his parents are wrong. You have him as born in 1720, father Martin also born in 1720 and mother Betsy born in 1724. :-)

RE: John Carnahan 102820948
John Carnahan married to Rebeckah Gibbs was a brother to William Cannon who was married to Mary Clark.

William Cannons daughter Elizabeth married Abner Gibbs and they had Ephraim Gibbs who married Urena Sterling and they had Dorliska Gibbs who married William Spear who had Bessie Spear who is my grandfather's mother.

That's the best way I can explain my connection. LOL

Thank you, the post is great. Now I feel better that the person who did the work of searching gets credit for doing so. And those after me know not to look there.

How are you related to John Carnahan? I know the family name changed from Carnahan to Cannon in the 1800's.

It's a ways back for me. A lot of the line I still need to work on and a lot of family to search for.

Thank you for your help!

John Carnahan 102820948
Thank you for adding the note for future searchers but I do have one correction.

I didn't do the searching. The person who took my request to take the photo did the searching and couldn't find anything.

Thank you for correcting that one little part. I want to give credit to that person for their work and time for me.

I read something about another little area where he could be so I need to reread that and request the photo again adding in that info and see if he might be there. Hopefully we will find him.

He is my ancestor too.

John Carnahan 102820948
I checked the entire "old" section of the cemetery and did not find any marker. There are empty spaces to the left of his wife's stone but no sign or remnant of a marker.

I requested a photo of this John Carnahan's gravestone but the person that took my request was unable to do so. This message was left for me explaining the problem of why a photo could not be taken.

I was hoping that perhaps you would update John's memorial page with this note pointing out that this area was checked so anyone else looking for a stone after me will know that there is no marker for him in that area. That way they won't take the time to look again.

Thank you,
Margaret R
