Mrs. Snyder
Thank you so very much for taking the photo of Mrs. Snyder' s gravestone. I had hoped there would be more information inscribed on her stone but now I know there's not thanks to your photo! I suspect she is the widowed wife of a long-lost cousin and will have to continue working on that family mystery!! Thanks again!

Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 11/7/2004

August Patrick McDonald Sr., 77, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004 at North Oaks
Medical Center, Hammond. The New Orleans native served as a merchant
marine during World War II and was retired from the New Orleans Sewage and
Water Board and the Sheet Metal International Union Local No. 11. He was
also a longtime member and past champion of the New Orleans City Park Golf
Club. He is survived by his wife, Olga B. McDonald; one son, August P.
McDonald Jr.; one daughter, Marilynn McDonald Donaldson; his mother, Rose
M. McDonald; three brothers, Lawrence, Steve and Stanley McDonald; one
sister, Rose McDonald Bily and four grandchildren. He was preceded in
death his father, August R. McDonald; one sister, Viola McDonald Cuff and
one brother, Paul McDonald. Friends and former co-workers may pay respects
to the family because there will be no services. Geisler Funeral Home,
Hammond, is in charge of the arrangements.

Yes, there are some Bernard's from St Tammany in my tree. I have 5 Jean Louis Bernard's in my tree, mostly from the Lafayette, St Martinville area. Most of my Bernard's came from France to Acadie, Nova Scotia, to Louisisna.

Thank you so much for your effort to find Lester Bailey's grave. I appreciate it so much. I believe he was the brother of one of my ancestors, and they have a sister who's buried in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb and her grave isn't marked either. Thanks again!
