You meet all kinds of people on Findagrave... most of whom are helpful and co-operative. Just spending a few minutes a day on Findgrave can provide a great deal of genealogical input. Thank you for your co-operation! If I can assist anyone, please contact me.

My father, David Kennedy, was an avid genealogical researcher, so you could say, this was one of my inherited interests. He started his search in 1959 after meeting then Senator John F. Kennedy in Washington, DC. He asked my father if we were Catholic or Protestant Kennedys, after which Senator Kennedy suggested that since we were not Catholic, we must have entered the US via Northern Ireland. And the search continues...

Some of my direct lines are Kennedy, Clayton, Merritt, Head, Prothro, Crouch, Wright, Goodwin, Bledsoe, Breazeale, Smith, Guyton, Moorhead, Kirksey, Wyatt, Griffin, Richardson, Meyer, Johnston, Lott, Knox, Gaston, Barnett, Ray, Sharp, Alverson. I have been working on my genealogy since the 1990s. I always try to give credit to those who have done genealogical research ... just a very common courtesy.... Thanks y'all.

David Richardson Howard
Fran, please forgive my rapidly failing old memory. It was the brother's GIVEN name,as in David Richardson Howard. I could have sworn though, that the sister married a Richardson as well.
Anyway, I have

Henry Howard> Harriett Bush Howard

Children: David Richardson Howard
James Bush (J.B.) Howard

My apologies.

Richardson -Howard Connection
Fran, first, please let me say it is a wonderful thing you do and you are far more appreciated than you know ! Secondly, when I saw Harriett Marie Howard Sydow's death certificate, it didn't take two seconds to realize you may be researching JB Howard's sister, who married a Richardson. JB Howard, the father of Harriett Howard Sydow, was my great grandfather. I am also in touch with John Howard, Jr, and Tommy Howard on Facebook. Both live in SC and are descendants of JB and his first marriage to Harriett's mother, Salina Butler, therefore Harriett, as well.
They both have some info on JB and probably his sster that married the Richardson- I think her name was Susan, but I am not sure. But for now let's just call her Mrs. R.
Both she and JB had another brother as well, and JB, his wife, his father Henry Howard and mother Harriett Bush Howard all lived in Edgefield County, SC, near Beech Island . If this helps you any at all, or if you have further info we could possibly link together, please contact me on Facebook, preferably,at

Brent Reidenbach
Joseph Moorhead Jolly/Anna Cole Sherrill
Good morning Ma'am,
My name is Brent Reidenbach and I'm writing to you from Lorton, Virginia. I am a member of Co I, 47th Virginia - The Stafford Guards; Hood's Texas Brigade Association - Reactivated; and, the Texas Living History Association. Until recently, I was also a volunteer historian and living history interpreter at The Weems-Botts Museum in Dumfries, Virginia. While associated with the museum, I portrayed a young man who was a member of Co G, 5th Texas; a native of Anderson, SC; and a brother to Manse Jolly - John Alexander Jolly.

I will be giving a presentation on John's life in his hometown of Anderson, South Carolina over Labor Day Weekend. The reason I am contacting you is because I am looking for descendants of any of John's brothers/sisters who would be willing to discuss and share information that has been passed down through his family.

Please feel free to contact me any time at any time if you have any questions or information that you can and/or are willing to share. Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

John Thaddeus Stone - grave #75569359
The following is stated on this memorial: "John T. Stone is the son of Micajah B. Stone (1786-1839) and 2nd wife Rhoda Pryor Stone (ca.? -1845) of Greenville, SC." If this information is correct, Thaddeus may be my great great great uncle.

There may be some question regarding Thaddeus being a son of Micajah B. Stone. Can you tell me the source of this information?

Many thanks.

DeWitt Stone

Oops! John M Ivey would be Turner's brother, not father....

Find A Grave Memorial @44045980

Re: John M Ivey, Sr.

This might be the father of Turner Ivey. Turner was born 9 Sep 1776 in Virginia and died 27 Jul 1837 in Dallas County, Alabama, USA, which is where the family was living before some of the children moved on to Texas.

They are of my line. Turner's son is my 4th Great Grandfather.

I had a nice trip back there to S.C. in Oct. I stopped in to Pendleton and saw Barbara H.S. I did not realize you lived so close! I am related to Prothros too. I did quite a bit of research on Evan of Aiken while I was there. Which branch is yours?
