After many phone calls to monument co. in area, I found who had the new stone made in 1995. Pauline Carrier from there in the area (now deceased) had the stone made. Dora Sturdy m. to John J. Knier was a relative. I am getting more info. from the family as I was able to talk to a son of Pauline's that I traced down. Will have more info. soon hopefully.

Jo-Ann, I just discovered the headstone for Elizabeth Sturdy in Sinking Creek Cemetery. She would be my gtgtgdm. I would like to know who may have done the newer headstone that sits beside the old one as it tells me there might be family near by?
Would like to know where this cemetery is located as well?
Thank you so much and how exciting to find the pictures of where she is buried. Hope to find more about her husband Wm. s. sturdy as well.

Is Eliza and Meridith Columbus Cook your ancestors? A group of us are putting together a history of Weddington and I seen that Eliza is buried in Weddington Cemetery. If you have any history or pictures that you might contribute let me know. Or if you would like to help out, we would love to have you. Mike.
