Bio and Links
Bio Photo My main interest has been in the Confederate Section of Old City Cemetery here in Lynchburg. With there being more than 2,200 soldiers resting there from all of the states of the Confederacy, the labor of love has taken quite some time. So many of these men left home to never be heard from again. I am often times humbled walking around in this section. The staggering number of young and old men whose families have no idea where they are. I get the greatest feeling of elation when a current family member finds one of these men and the circle is closed when they are back with family. I owe the greatest debt of gratitude for member LJH who has helped me numerous times in correctly identifying the men. With the Confederate Section fairly well covered, I have moved on to Presbyterian Cemetery here in town, as of 12/31/2016 with yet another new camera.

*Please do not post death certificates on any of my memorials.*

If you are a family member to anyone of the memorials I have posted, I will not hesitate transferring the memorial over to your care. That is why I do this. All I ask is that you please use some tact when requesting a transfer or making a suggestion for an edit.

If you have a better quality photo of any grave marker than the ones I have posted on my memorials, please post it. If not, please don't post it. Thank you. I put a lot of effort into taking good quality photos. These last couple of years have been a learning experience, but I think I have got the hang of it, finally. I hope you don't mind my posting a photo to your memorial, even though you may already have one or more up. ***If you do not want my photo on your memorial, please let me know and I will remove it***. It is so very important to me to take a good quality photo as I want to make sure the info I put on a memorial is correct on the chance that a family member will find the information and be able to use it. I always spend a little extra time wiping off grass clippings or bird poop, but that is all. Sunny days are best for a good photo, morning shadows really make a stone pop. Photoshop is your friend as well :)

RE: Henry and Lucy Lewis
Yes, I live here in Lynchburg, too. I will have to try to get over there soon! Thanks for the info on how to get a good picture. If you happen to retake pics on a memorial of mine where my picture isn't good, let me know and I can remove mine.
Thanks again!

Henry and Lucy Lewis
Hi Darrell,
Thank you for posting the updated pictures for the Lewis'. I only have a cell phone camera and I was wondering what kind of camera, etc you use to take your pictures. Your pictures are so nice!
Thanks again,
Lisa

RE: Alexander Yuille
Hi, Darrell,
Thank you for the information about the marker. I am not a family member of Mr. Yuille. I requested edits for family relationships to link him to his family. Hopefully a family member would be able to get him a marker.
Thanks again,
Lisa

It was with great surprise and delight that I just discovered, quite by accident, the superb photos you recently added to my memorials for Robert Henry and Lillian Holley Jennings. Thank you so very much! I didn't request marker photos when I created the memorials because I thought, for some reason, that no markers existed. It's great to find I was mistaken.

Thanks again!

Best,

James Gouldman
Thank you for this information. I have found the father of James, as Edward Gouldman, but since the counties were burned counties I have had no luck finding his father. I wonder if you have any information regarding the family during the Am Rev.

re Sgt John Henry Organ
Hi!
Thanks for contacting me regarding Mary Catherine Johnson Organ. While she may be related to us due to many family members living in Virginia I'm afraid that I can't lay claim to her! John Henry Organ is listed as single in the Virginia Deaths and Burials Index, 1853-1917, plus he was born in 1831 so would be a bit young for Mary who was born in 1848 although I'm sure that stranger things have happened!
It was kind of you to offer to transfer the memorial. Hopefully someone else can claim her in the future.
I hope your clean up goes smoothly!

RE: Ammon Hancock - Sarah's record
Oh that's so cool that you found Sarah too... thanks, I'd love to be administrator. Haven't found his parents but his brother is Justus #109994969 (just asked for management of that record)
