Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in New Jersey in 1981, and have lived here most of my life. Photography has been a hobby of mine for many years, and in the spring of 2009, I began photographing cemeteries. I started purely for the artistic value, but as I've progressed, I've developed a genuine passion for the subject. I know very little about my own family history, but I've found something meaningful in helping others discover theirs. Who knows? Perhaps I'll find the answers to my own questions someday.

Re Charity Young (Mem. #13914852)
Dear Valentine:
Your photo of Charity's gravestone is beautiful. May I have your permission to use it on my Ancestry file for her and possibly in my website (www.josfamilyhistory.com). She was the 1st wife of my ancestor Col. Jacob Drake. I am descended from his 2nd wife (Esther Dickerson). Here is how I would credit you: "Photo by Find A Grave.com Memorial #13914852 contributor 'Valentine' (permission granted)." Thank you for your consideration. Joann

Re: Charity Young Drake, Request
I'm asking for permission to use your beautiful tombstone photo for Charity Young Drake. She was the 1st wife of my 4th Great-Grandfather, Col. Jacob Drake. I would like to post the photo on my Ancestry genealogy and also in my family genealogy website. Proper attribution would be given.

...also, my mother has since passed and the memorial has been updated. See new image here #72931140. Can you link her as spouse of Dwight?

Thank you,

Or turn over control to me?

Thank you,

Saw some of your images from Caldwell; lovely B&W work. Maybe we could compare notes about some of the better (visually) graveyards in the area? I'm based in Glen Ridge...

Re: Maria Hoyt
Hi Valentine-

Could I copy your photo of Maria Hoyt to my ancestry tree which is private, giving you credit. Thank you so much for locating Maria Smith Hoyt! I am very appreciative of your hard work. They last name Smith can be very tricky to research.
Thank you again!

Best Regards-

Susan

Dominican Sisters of Caldwell Cemetery
Thanks for adding the pictures of some of the sisters graves at the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell Cemetery. By the time I found the cemetery and my great Aunts grave I didn't have time to take additional pictures.

warm wishes...
Thanks for your reply to my Thanksgiving note. I've been slow in replying but for a good reason - we found a specialist and have found relief for my mom's terrible chorinic pain, so it's a good thing! Other than that, hosetly not much to report.

Have any special plans for the break? This year, for a change, we're staying home. I'm thrilled, tired of holiday travel. What a joy it'll be to roll out of bed and go downstairs in my jammies!

"Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it." -- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832)

Wishing you hope like this, and sending warm wishes for the holiday and for a fine 2011. Thanks for your friendship.
