Bio Photo Still living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where most of my ancestors have lived. My passion for genealogy drives me to help others find their roots. Please feel free to contact me whether family or genealogy searcher.
In 2007 when searching for Kocinski headstones, I decided to document old cemeteries on the South Side of Pittsburgh. Below are the current list of cemeteries I have completely documented.
-----------------------------------------
St. Adalbert's Cemetery on Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, Carrick, Pennsylvania started May 2007 and finished November 2007.
--Maps of my 'descriptive' location within the cemetery is included as one of the photo on St Adalbert's Cemetery main page.
--Deaths after May 2007, may not be listed.
-----------------------------------------
St Josephat's Cemetery on Glass Run Road, Pittsburgh (Baldwin), Pennsylvania started April 2009 and finished May 2009.
--Maps of my 'descriptive' location within the cemetery is included as one of the photo on St Josephat's Cemetery main page.
--Deaths after April 2009 may not be listed.
-----------------------------------------
Loretto Cemetery on Devlin Street, Pittsburgh, South Side, Pennsylvania started in May 2009 and finished August 2009.

Story from contributor Phyllis Seaman-Eckert about her aunt who died at age 2 and burial location:
There are graves down over the hill at the 1st part of the circle. Apparently, many children were buried down there. In fact, we were always able to locate her grave because it was near a rather large above-ground structure for a Spanish or Mexican child.

--Maps of my 'descriptive' location within the cemetery is included as one of the photo on St Josephat's Cemetery main page.
--Deaths after August 2009 may not be listed.
-----------------------------------------
St Peter's Cemetery on Arlington Avenue, Pittsburgh, Mt Oliver, Pennsylvania started in August 2009 and finished September 2009.

--Maps of my 'descriptive' location within the cemetery is included as one of the photo on St Peter's Cemetery main page.
--Deaths after September 2009 may not be listed.
------------------------------------------
St Michael's Cemetery on 18th Street, Pittsburgh, South Side Pennsylvania started in September 2009 and not finished

Check out the website below: I found Charles, Bernice and some of their children in Christ Our Redeemer cemetery in Pittsburg while searching for their graves. Thought I would pass this on.

Laura Rueger
Laura Wikert, born March 14, 1873 in Sharpsburg, the daughter of Simon Wikert and Anna Jane Smith, is on the 1880 census as a 7 year old child. Her brother John Nikolaus is also on the census.

Laura Rueger's family immigrated in 1880 from Germany. The passenger list shows her as a child named Lorchen. A few researchers have adjusted the birth date of Laura to fit that name, but I will not do it without a church record that reinforces that child as Laura. Laura was born on October 13, 1873 according to her marriage license.

Since John Wikert was only 42 years of age when he died, it is possible that Laura married again. She and John had 5 known children, the last born in 1903. Simon's daughter Laura died in 1891. I was told many years ago by someone at the St. John's church that he believed she was buried with John. I have never been able to find confirmation for that. I have not found a second marriage for her.

Laura Wikert (Simon's daughter) never married. The link to Elizabeth Wikert Butler is not correct.

Hello! I was researching my wife's ancestors and came across your entry here for a great-great aunt and I was curious of your source for the entry on Edna's memorial (43713498). Do you have that?
Thanks!

Laura Wikert
Sorry, but I declined an edit that you made for Laura Wikert in Greenwood Cemetery. However, since I typed the response without thinking, I did make a mistake in that she was not the wife of a brother. The Laura Wikert that is in Simon's lot in Greenwood is not Laura Reuger, but an unmarried daughter of Simon.

Laura Reuger is the wife of Simon's SON, John Nicholas Wikert, who died in Millvale. She was the daughter of Wilhelm Reuger and Augusta Syler, as far as I know. She and John are buried in St. John's Cemetery above the North Side. I went there years ago, trying to find again John's tombstone. My mother and I had found it in 1982, but when I went back it was not there. It was very small and not in good condition. There are several different stone for the Reuger family. I think John Wikert was helpful in burying my great grandfather, his brother, in that cemetery as he was an outcast from the family.

Martha Danley
When you deleted J S Danley you left his wife Matrtha and daughter Laura and Son Osco on the page.
They need to be deleted also as they are not related to my john . Danley.
May I ask which of the Danleys are you related to?
Appreciate your help.

HI
IN DOING OUR DANLEY RESEARCH I DISCOVERED AN ERROR INVOLVING OUR JOHN A DANLEY. YOU SHOW HIM AS A SON TO J S AND MARTHA L DANLEY. SINCE HE WAS BORN IN 1773 AND DIED IN 1856 I KNEW IT NOT POSIBLE. SO CHECKED FURTHER AND FOUND YOUR J S DANLEY WAS ALREADY ON FGR NUMBER 74798893 AS JOHN S DANLEY. EVEN HIS TOMBSTONE.

HE WAS ACTUALLY JOHN SCOTT DANLEY AND WIFE MARTHA L MCCLEARY DANLEY. THEY ARE ON ANCESTRY AND RAISED A LARGE FAMILY INCLUDING OSCO AND LAURA.

HE MAY HAVE BEEN A COUSIN TO MY JOHN A DANLEY.
PLEASE GO IN AND DELETE YOUR PAGE ON FGR AND THEN ADD THEM TO PAGE FOR JOHN S.
SINCERELY,
JUDY WHISLER
