News December 2013
FindAGrave has implemented a new way of handling edits. You no longer get an e-mail in most cases. Go to your "Contributor Tools" and see if the tab that says "Edits" has a number next to it. If so, those are pending edit requests.

There was a request for a pix of his memorial so I took it and added it without looking. You had already posted a pix of it. My picture is a little bit better but check it out. This was requested by Faye Johnston. I can delete mine if you want. Thanks. Was in Vaiden this aft and took about 6, couldn't find the rest. Oh, well.

McKenzie Cemetery
Hi Beth,
It's us again. Could you give us directions to McKenzie Cemetery? The pin on Find A Grave doesn't seem to be correct.

RE: Pilgrim Rest Cemetery
Hi Beth,

There was a split with church members back in the early 1900s which caused Second Pilgrim Rest to emerge. I have family members buried at both locations. Old Pilgrim Rest was the first black church where most of the Moore slaves are buried at.

Old Pine Bluff #2
Hi Beth,
Pam and I were at Old Pine Bluff #1 & #2 today. Sally Bennett had photographed #2 in 2009. Today we saw only 1 stone; that of Joshua Garrett and it was a "new" stone.
We were just wondering what has happened to the stones. We could have just missed them but we thought we looked around pretty good and we did find Joshua.
It's just a mystery to us.
Thought you might know.

RE: Ralph McLellan
I see you added the obituary. I sincerely appreciate it. FYI: I am his granddaughter, not grandson, but it does matter if you leave it like it is. Thanks again!

RE: James Smith
I was not confused. I just wanted to make sure you weren't.

While it makes sense that James would be in the Jacksonville Memorial Gardens cemetery, it doesn't say so. His residence was at the time in Big Pine Key in the Florida Keys where he and his family had lived for some time. The only connection to Jacksonville seems to be that he was in a hospital there at the time of his death. It's a big military town and he was retired military. They also held a memorial service in his hometown in Louisiana. Perhaps he's buried in one of those two places.

RE: James Mitchell
You're very welcome, however I did not look for a James Mitchell.
