Bio

I was born in Central City, KY on April 26, 1940. I served one tour in the U S Navy as a Aviation Mechanic. I spent my whole career in aviation working on the development of the engine for the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, United Airlines, Eastern Airlines, developing United Parcel Service's Air Line, and retiring as a Boeing 757/767 Fleet Operations Division Manager in 1998. I still hold a current FAA A&P mechanic's license.
I have been married to Joan E. Rich for 51 years (no relation, her father and grandfather both Arthur W. Rich's came from Halifax and Newfoundland Canada)and have one son and two grandchildren.
I am now a snowbird between Lakeland, FL and Lake Hartwell, SC.
My hobbies have been building and flying experimental homebuilt aircraft, some golf, and fishing, plus RVing.
I have been working on my family tree for six months after picking up what my deceased brother recovered from the family bible ten years ago.
I have just begun to take memorials for the purpose of sharing any information I may have, to help other in their search, and hopefully to receive help with mine.
I'm happy to assist anyone looking for my help.
My public family tree may be seen by those with a membership in Ancestry.Com by searching for "RICH Family Tree" on their website.
