Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been into genealogy and walking cemeteries since 2006. One side of my family comes from southern Iowa/Northern Missouri (Wayne County and Mercer County) via Pennsylvania (Hempfield, West Moorland). The other side from Norway to Bode in Humboldt County, Iowa. Those Norwegians are hard to figure out! I also have roots in Greene County and scattered around the state. I would be happy to go to any cemeteries in central Iowa when time permits, just let me know where and who I am looking for and I will get there as soon as I can. I am also willing to look up information needed on a person at the local libraries when I go. I keep a list of requests and will be happy to add more.

If I have added a memorial for your family and that person is not in mine, I am willing to transfer.

Ms. Betsy, I called the number @ the Library and the gentleman who answered said he didn,t do genealogy but would pass my name & phone number on to others in hopes they can help. I did a people search on both Nancy & Mercer Richer in the Des Moines area and found an address, no phone number, on Nancy but it list her age as 66 about 10 years too low. Will keep trying as I think of something else to do. Thanks again.

I called the number you left for me 515 532 3045 and talked with this gentleman about Rev. Gerald A. Pletcher, but he did not have a clue as to who he was. Maybe something will turn uo later. Was wondering where his daughter Nancy might be who was in my class at school in the early 1950,s.

He's not related to me either. This is a collateral research project where I'm attempting to break through a brick wall in my own line. I've updated the memorial. Thanks for the transfer.

I posted what I got...sounds like you're looking for a more panoramic shot of the area including the grave. Next time I head over to that part of town I'll try to do that for you. I'm pretty sure I remember where in the cemetery it was located.

Quilt
Hi Betsy

I have a quilt with various names stitched in it many of the names are Nachazel and so I searched Find A Grave and saw your entries under the memorial pages to Mary Lois and Kate. The quilt is very beautiful and I was wondering if you could tell me anything more about its history or about the lovely ladies who made it?

Thanks

Sherrie
