I am a wife and a mother of two boys. I love ancestry research when I can get the time.|
I live in Ashe county, NC and have gotten acquainted with the common surnames and family trees of the area. If you have a questions about any family info from this area, I may know a few things that might help. I have easy access to the county library and the courthouse. Just ask and I'll be glad to help, although it may take some time to get there! If you are interested in networking with possible family members in the area, I have started a group on Facebook called Ashe County Genealogy and everyone is friendly and willing to help and share information that they have.
Due to my in-laws connections, I hope to get involved in the study of genealogy in surrounding counties' and Florida at large, especially Monroe, Duval, Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Suwannee counties.
My paternal grandfather has Cajun connections in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, and I hope to connect with family in that area as well.

You need to check the dates on the memorial---mine was Feb 24 2011 and the other one you mentioned was Nov 2013----so perhaps you need to contact that contributor and have her add her info to MY memorial.
I did not make a duplicate
|Paula M. Rakes||DANIEL DIXON|
Good Morning ...
Thank you so much for both attempting to fulfill my photo request for Daniel Dixon and providing a copy of his death certificate ... Your assistance is most appreciated ...
I am not a descendant of Daniel yet I am a distant cousin to your husband ... I descend from Moses Dixon a brother to Daniel Dixon who is ancestor to this Daniel Dixon ... Moses and his brother Daniel are sons of Thomas Dickson and Nancy McMillan ...
Thank you again ...

Thank you for letting me know that this grave in not marked in the cemetery. I appreciate your work very much.

Thank you so much for your response. Rich (who has the earlier dated memorial) says that he would be glad to work with you in any way he can. (I have worked with him extensively and find him easy to work with.) He will also transfer his memorials if you are related and he is not.
Given that you sound like you also dislike duplicates, I hope you will choose to contact him to see what the two of you can accomplish.
I have been photographing cemeteries in Ashe for several months and the problems with duplicates and memorials in the wrong cemeteries is nothing short of incredible. However, we are making a lot of progress!
|Lori Humble||Thomas Pope - Woodlawn Cemetery|
Thomas was buried with his lodge. There is a large stone "book" with the names of the men buried in the plot and a number representing their burial spot. No headstones, just a marble number marking their burial location.
Let me know if I can help you further.

Thank you so much for trying to locate the headstone of Matilda Pennington Davis. I appreciate you letting me know there isnt one and have noted her memorial as such .
Really appreciate you and your time :)
