|D. Goodboe||Henry Thomas Richeson # 151167302|
Looking for Richeson connections from Amherst County, VA in the 1800s. My people were small landowners and slaveholders in the area now drowned by the reservoir that serves Lynchburg, VA, with the western portion of the old farm also lying within the Washington-Jefferson National Forest.
I'd like to hear from anyone descended from the family of Jesse Richeson and his 22 children by his two wives, Amelia Rucker and Katheryn Sledd, and one enslaved woman whose name is unknown. I know many descendants remained in the area for decades and some live there still, but I'm descended from the line that migrated west. I've been in touch with distant cousins with the surnames Hughes, Rucker, and Hill. Happy to share as much information as I have.

I would appreciate your consideration of transferring Marcellus M. Coleman's # 73628874

Hi Art, I recently took and posted a photo of this gentleman's marker to your memorial. Seems strange that his last name is not on the military marker. I assume he was a Union soldier during the Civil War. If so, then he is the only member of the Colored Infantry in Old City that I am aware of. Very unique marker.

Hi Art, I see that there is a photo request from someone for this person's grave. Seeing how I spend a lot of time in Old City, I was going to try and find the grave to get a photo. Problem being that the Old City database does have him listed as being buried there, but the Diuguid burial records appear to show him buried in Presbyterian. What a conundrum. The database does not show a plot or section, so this should be quite the challenge. Challenge accepted...
