I love helping people however I can plus this is getting me out of the house for some much needed exercise. |
I am employed with the Oklahoma Forensic Center, formally known as Eastern State Hospital, in Vinita for 26 years now. I drive by the cemetery several times every day. I have always enjoyed touring cemeteries and looking at the old headstones. Once when driving through the cemetery and admiring all the Memorial Day flowers I told my 3 year old grandson that his great-grandpa had a sister there but I always had trouble finding her. He gave me such a sympathetic look and said, "Well granny, that's probably because she is way down under the ground somewhere." I thought what a brilliant conclusion for a 3 year old that has never been talked to about death.

|Bluespringsmom||William Wood memorial|
Thank you for the huge effort for making these memorials. My great-great uncle, William Wood is one of yours, #126272541. He never married and lived near Vinita on a farm with his mom, his sister and brother-in-law, Scott Bair. His mom died about 1938 and my mother said she was buried out in the country. So, I've never been able to find her. She is my great-great grandmother and I have pictures of her. Scott Bair's wife, my uncle Will's sister, Emma, wrote to my family in Missouri when she was dying and asked for them to come and get her cause she wanted to be buried there in Osceola. That is where she died in 1943. I have located Scott Bair in Vinita, OK. Would you mind transferring the William Wood memorial to my care? Thank you for all you have done on Find A Grave.

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to identify the last resting spots of many of our "old soldiers' that had ties to Vermont. Richard Puffer is one such soldier. may I use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave memorial, to post on the Vt. C.W.site? (www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

I Jackie, I noticed a picture of headstone that belongs to the mother on this memorial. Easily confused for sure. Would you mind deleting the mothers headstone picture? I was at the cemetery and took picture of the correct headstone.

I added a picture to Jeanne's memorial that I thought you might like to see. I have a better one of her somewhere I may find later.I tell you this because I am always interested in any pix added to my memorials and thought you might be too.Also, if you are like me and curious about early deaths she had high blood pressure and had a stroke.

A replacement monument has been set for James & Mary. I posted the photo on the memorial.

Hi again Jackie
I created the correct Panola Parrish Armstrong memorial to go with the photo you did of her tombstone. Her new memorial is #152118494
I'd appreciate you changing the photo to this new memorial.
Oh I forgot to ask for sure .. did you find the tombstone in Fairview Cemetery where the wrong Panola is listed or was it a different cemetery?
I added the Fairview Cemetery to MY memorial for Panola but wasn't sure if that was the actual place you found the tombstone.
Anyway thanks for all your help!!
|Linda Gregory||RE: Panola M Armstrong #37998477|
Yes think it would be best to remove the photo since it is for another Panola who married a G A ARMSTRONG. The tombstone states that it's Panola was born 1858 and died 1890. Don't think there is a memorial yet for her.
I need to check again to make sure the correct info then if I don't find a memorial for the person whose tombstone you have I will create a new memorial and then you can add this photo to the new memorial.
The memorial #37998477 is a different person who was born 1907 and died 2005.
