|I love genealogy. My husband and I traveled to find the gravesites of our relatives and were so thrilled when we found them. We took pictures and made memorial pages for our family albums. I found Find A Grave by accident and started taking pictures of local cemeteries when there was a photo request. After several trips back to the same cemeteries I started taking a few extra pictures each time. I was happy to be able to add them for future family researchers. What a great idea! I hope I can help someone else find who they are looking for. Credit FAG, it is a wonderful site. |
For the Cook County area credit Judy Annis at the Cook County Historical society. She wanted to document all of Cook County cemeteries as a gift for the residents of Cook County. She is currently working on linking family members. I was honored to help with photos for her project.

We saw the one in Bibb County. There is only three cemeteries in Enigma. None named Ebenezer. I talked the people in the little store up there and all agree that there is only three cemeteries and none named as above. I think that Findagrave in this case is in error or at least the information that has been provided is. I did what you said and so far the lady who took the picture hasn't replied. I think that picture is of a sign for a church named Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. It may go to the church in Macon you mentioned. There is about 7 maps of Berrien Co. cemeteries on Rootsgen. Search using cemeteries of Berrien county Georgia. I saw down at the bottom that you can have paper copies sent to you for 45 dollars. We are finding very few pictures lacking in our county thanks to you.

According to Findagrave this cemetery is suppose to be in Enigma GA. We couldn't find it. Have you ever been there?
|Renaldo Browne||Henry B. Holliday|
I see they finally put a marker for Henry B. Holliday. When I lived in Valdosta (2000-2007), I would put miniature U.S. Flag at his grave, which wasn't marked, but I knew it was next to a big oak tree. His wife's marker is there, but, she never got around to getting one for him.
There is a street named after him. From what I heard, he was Mayor of Valdosta twice.
I was also told they had a house in Bemiss Road. They also lived in the south portion of Valdosta.

It was surveyed but its been awhile back. I always check the names before I add so there are mo duplicate ones in the system.

I received a message from you saying it was a duplicate. It is not a duplicate. This is my grandfather. The one that you have posted is my great grandfather.

I have deleted my Mattie J Averett 179660037 and also deleted my Jane Doe 180592240.
I left comments on Clara Lee Avera 87454042 and Janie Abbott 8776953.
No, I don't think you are checking my work. It is good to know if I have made errors or if there are duplicate memorials.
Besides, I'm always sending you updated information I find or information I see in your photos that can improve your memorials. Like husband and wife connections.
Thanks for the help and information.
|Linda Davis||RE: Jospehine Thompson oak hill|
All the information I know about Josephine Thompson in Oak Hill Cemetery is on the memorial....I didn't write that. Mama's Thompson line is in So GA and at the time that I was requesting the photo, I thought these folks may have been distant kin. Today, maybe not.
So there is an unmarked plot next to her husband's grave site, right? I am thinking that is her.
|John "Jack" Regar||RE: Augustus Roberts|
Thanks for the info.

Find A Grave Memorial# 91651993. Looking at the site plaque there is "no date" in left box (birth) and a date in the right box (death-unreadable). Any way to verify because I have a relative James Scarborough Roberts Find A Grave Memorial# 58340366 who maybe his father?
Thanks for your help
Thanks for the photos...
