I love genealogy. My husband and I traveled to find the gravesites of our relatives and were so thrilled when we found them. We took pictures and made memorial pages for our family albums so when I found Find A Grave I was happy to be able to add them for future family researchers. What a great idea! I hope I can help someone else find who they are looking for. Credit FAG, it is a wonderful site.

RE: Essie Giddens
Would you please post what I wrote to you on Essie Giddens McCranie #45013811. If you look above William Knight Giddens and Fannie Baskins links for parents of Essie someone wrote:
Father William W.Giddens b.June 1849 (Lowndes Co. Ga) d.unknown at this time
Mother Rachel L.Everett b.June 1855 (Berrien Co. Ga) d. unknown at this time"

Someone else was on the same trail as me. Thanks for all you do to help everyone.

WM Register Sr.
I know, you didn't add this one. The reason I ask is because he is in the cemetery twice. The only Register that is done right is W. Register Jr. and yes you did add that one. Since we can't seem to get in touch with the lady who created WM Register Sr., how can we get one deleted. Oh! I also added you to our friends list. Thanks for all your suggestions and yes, we love Nashville. There is an index of the Old City Cemetery (Nashville) in the library. That's how we found Laura Register to add her picture.

Essie Giddens

I noticed Essie as a sister on your memorial for Albert H. Giddens #110914125. I went to her memorial and this was my response from them.

William Knight and Fannie were Essie's brother and sister in law.
William W. and Rachael, were her parents.
Some of the listings on find a grave are approximate guesses by the find a grave computing system.
There are more children of John and Essie that are not listed because, no information can be found.
There is a Daughter, Lois who married a man named Clovis Allen, they had a son named Donald.
There was a child named W I who died in a house fire (playing with matches approx. age of 5). following the birth of John Jr.(my grandfather)
Another Daughter named Julia, who was older than Elouise McCranie Pritchard. (Julia is believed to be the oldest of John and Essie).
I do believe there are two more children whom no one can remember their names anymore.

Hope this can help, Look forward to sharing as much information as we can! Thanks again Ray Peavey (Mark is my Husband).

This is my question. The Essie (child of William Knight Giddens and Fannie Baskins in the 1900 Census, Rays Mill, Berrien, GA, shows her birth date as Feb 1888 Not 1886 as shown. In further research through findagrave and ancestry I found an Essie Giddens in the Woodlawn City Cemetery, Adel, Cook County, GA with a birth of 2 Feb 1888-24 oct 1975 married to Homer L. Parrish. I believe this Essie is the daughter of William and Fannie Giddens. What do you think? Would love to hear your input please. Pamela Hiatt.

RE: Cemetery Nashville
Thanks for getting back to us, Cat. We are new to Georgia and the area here, so all these cemeteries are new too. There is a lot of history here. We are enjoying the friendly locals and feel much safer than we did in Jacksonville.

ben griffin cemetery
If this cemetery is only one mile from zip code 31639, do you know where it is. I can't find it on google maps, and there is no location for it when you look up Ben Griffin Cemetery on Findagrave.

What do you mean, "manage the memorial?" I'm new to this site and a novice to genealogy. But I am a curious sort that loves history.

Eva Myrtice Jowers
Hi Cat,
My name is Pamela Dasher, my grandfather was William T. Vickers, brother to Eva Myrtice Jowers. I always knew he had a sister who was in a hospital in central Georgia, but I never knew her name. I just found her obituary. I'd love any information you can give me and would love to share information.

Thanx for the heads-up on the lack of headstone for Joseph Yarbrough - sad but that happens!
