Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching family genealogy for many years and also upload local cemetery registers for the cemeteries in our county.

I have no familial connection to most of the people I upload, so feel free to request transfers of your relatives. I only ask that you let me know how you're related to a family. Or if you have a decent reason, I'm good with that, too. If you'll take good care of a memorial, I have no problem transferring if you're not related.

While I have many memorials, I am not a numbers person. I would rather have family members maintain memorials.

I make updates very quickly, and usually do not reply back unless I have a question. I frequently will use the email provided in the edit to respond to a question. If your correction has not been made, please check to see if I've emailed, as I normally don't make the updates if I do not have the question answered.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

**Please use the Edit feature on memorials over requesting changes in messages or sending emails. That really is the easiest and most efficient way to accomplish updates. Thanks!**

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

****If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain memorials, please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and are willing to take over management of the memorials. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates.

Right now, you can email info@findagrave.com if you have someone who has accepted stewardship over the memorials you added. Please send in their member number with your email. Feel free to contact me should you wish that someone maintain the memorials you have created. Thanks!*****

Death is only an old door
Set in a garden wall
On gentle hinges it gives, at dusk
When the thrushes call
Along the lintel are green leaves
Beyond the light lies still;
Very willing and weary feet
Go over that sill
There is nothing to trouble any heart;
Nothing to hurt at all.
Death is only a quiet door.
In an old wall.

RE: Joseph Kelian Memorial
Hi

Joseph is my paternal grandfather and was born during the family's short time in Steven's Point (he lived until Jan-71). Josephine was his older sister that died during this period as well.

I located a newspaper article from the Steven's Point Journal (Feb 26, 1916) that referenced a home accident and she succumbed to her wounds.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to provide a snip it of the article through this website.

Hope this helps.

RE: Grothe/Mikkelsen
Conclusions:

Nils and Ingeborg Grothe are likely too old to be Sophie's parents.

Ammon/Armond Mickleson is Amund Mikkelsen, a pastor at New Hope and Scandinavia from 1863-1874. His memorial is 131906152.

I am speculating that Nils and Ingeborg had a daughter Ingebor, who married Amund Mikkelsen. Sophie may have been their child. No proof of either of these speculations. The church birth record where I could not read the father's first name may say Past. A. Mikkelberg.

If Sophie is Amund and Ingeborg's daughter, then it appears they also had another daughter named Sophie J. She married John P. Munson. Her memorial is 54360111.

Sophie Mikkelson may be the daughter of other parents. There may be a mistake in the registry. I have found nothing on Sophus or Josephine Mikkelsen. Sophus is a masculine Danish name, related to Sophie.

Suggestions:

I would delete 95662655 and keep the memorial for Nils Pederson Grothe.

I would delete the Sophie Grothe memorial. There are no records that I saw that support that name and death date.

I would add a note to Sophie Mikkelson's memorial that says that church records list her parents as A. Mikkelberg and Ingeborg Mikkelson, and that the cemetery register may or may not be incorrect. You may provide their memorial numbers if you choose.

I would keep the memorial for Ingeborg Grothe for now. I will see if I can track down a death date/location for her.

I think that covers everything I have learned.

RE: Grothe/Mikkelsen
I did some more research today. I can barely find anything on any of the names listed as parents. I have looked under the names Grothe, Grythe, Pederson, Peterson, Mickelson, Mikkelberg, and Mikkelson.

Using Ancestry, U.S., Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Records, 1875-1940:

I have confirmed Nils Pederson Grothe's death date as listed in the Guyant records. He is buried at Scandinavia Cemetery. There is a memorial under Nels Pederson also, see 95662655.

I have confirmed Sophie Josephine Mikkelson's death date and age of 17 months. Her parents are listed as (P?)____? A. (not sure what the name is) Mikkelberg and Ingeborg Mikkelson.

I found the 1870 census listing for Nels Peterson and wife Ingeborg. They are listed in the same household as Ammon/Armond? Mickleson and wife Ingebor. Also listed is a child Sophia J., aged 5 months. Census date is August 10, 1870.

See next message for conclusions....

Hi Jonelle, you have the wrong parents for little Mary. These are her grandparents. She was the daughter of Philippe Sauter "junior" (1856-1882) and Mary Jane (Jennie) Luker Sauter (1854-1905). Neither of them has a Find A Grave memorial. Mary was born in Sept. 1881 in Stevens Point WI and died there on 14 March 1884. As far as I know, she was their only child. There are such sad stories behind so many of these graves! Thanks for the great work you do helping us find our kin, Judy

Thank you for contacting me regarding the conflicting dates. The date of the article is April 30 not April 20. Sorry about that.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I was really hoping for more info on the infant, but I knew it was a long shot. Thanks again for checking the records.

RE: Bickel Cemetery
1. I am looking for more info on Infant Bobbe Memorial# 51425186. I don't know which Bobbe family this child belongs with. I'm seeking any and all info available including date of birth, date of death, and parents' names.

2. Dorothea Bobbe Memorial# 51589350 and Maria Doratha Bobbe Memorial# 51424895 seem to be the same person. But there are definitely 2 different markers at the cemetery. ( I think even next to each other.)

Any insight into why there are 2 markers? Should the 2 memorials be merged? Should 1 be marked as a cenotaph -- and which one? I want to link some of her children and I don't know which memorial to use.

Any help you can provide would be most appreciated!
