Bio and Links
Bio Photo Beginning in the summer of 2009 I undertook the project of updating cemetery records for Resurrection Cemetery(originally Swedish Cemetery and then the Lutheran Cemetery). Resurrection Cemetery is owned by First Lutheran Church of St. Peter, Minnesota (originally Swedish Lutheran Church).

Concurrently, I also began researching those interred at the Saint Peter State Hospital Original Cemetery, which is adjacent to Resurrection. The Original Cemetery land is now owned and maintained by First Lutheran church via the Resurrection Cemetery Board. However, the Saint Peter Regional Treatment Center, formerly St. Peter State Hospital, has the burial records for the Orignal Cemetery.

In order to maintain the integrity of these cemetery records, I will not transfer memorial pages unless it is confirmed that a person is not actually interred in one of the two cemeteries mentioned above.

I am willing to add corrections or additions as appropriate and as consistent with Find A Grave policies.

I'm not related and have no interest in this, but you know that F-A-G does not want duplicates. Have you appealed to the other manager of your cousin's memorial?

Nita...try googling Kenneth Oscar Johnson and Audrey Marie Johnson Solberg...I'm not sure if they have find-a-grave pages....both Sigred and Oscar are buried in Center City at the cemetery next to the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church...Kenneth is in Florida somewhere and Audrey is buried in either Minneapolis or St Paul...Sigred was SO beautiful...I have photos of her holding my mom and aunt (identical twins) shortly after they were born...they always referred to her as Aunt Sigred! She and Oscar and my grandpa and grandma spent holidays together and lots of time at the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church...If you are a member of Ancestry you can check for more information about her as there are several families who have information about her with numerous photos....my family tree is under the name Joann Toy...

Nita...I think we are related but very distantly...Sigred Marie Holsten Johnson was the wife of my great-uncle, Oscar Wilhelm Johnson...she was born in August, 1895 and died January 16, 1936. The couple lived in Center City, Minnesota along with my grandpa, Swan John Johnson and his wife, Elida. My grandpa owned the town's grocery store and Oscar worked as a stone mason. He and Sigred had two children who were orphaned after the deaths of Oscar in 1925 and then their mother in 1936; both Oscar and Sigred died of cancer. Their children went on to become extremely successful people...the son was a chemical engineer who ended up owning his own oil company and died a billionaire; the daughter was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful like her mother, Sigred. I visited Center City a couple of summers ago and met with Sigred's granddaughter and great granddaughter and together we cleaned the gravestones of both Oscar and Sigred...Thanks for leaving me this message...Joann

RE: Alfred Sandgren
Hi again,

Lovely to get such a speedy reply! I visited the cemetery of South Elim Church in 2004 with relatives living in St Paul and guessed our connection with the Granstrands so we tried getting in touch with one of the sons. We are related to Alfreds family. His mother Lovisa was the sister of my great grandmother. I thank you for sharing and will use the email address you sent. Please ask if there is anything I could help you with! Thank you!

Thanks for wedding photo
This is fun! To be able to sit in Sweden and get a lovely wedding picture of a distant relative, Alfred Sandgren. If anyone here related to the Sandgren family would like to get in touch, please do!

RE: Adolph Roseby
Greetings Nita, Thank you for the information about Adolph Roseby. I will make the changes needed, but I would like to find out where Adolph is interred. I guess I have some researching to do.

Thank you again,

RE: Adolph Roseby
Thank you for the information on Adolph Roseby who died 08-25-1939. Mr.Roseby was my uncle and he was sent to St. Peter State Hospital around 1936 for tuberculosis where he was isolated until his death on 8-25-1939.
August 18, 1997 I received a copy of the Certificate of Death Record for Adolph Roseby from the State of Minnesota County of Nicollet, County Recorder Kathryn Conlon, by JoAnn Cochran, Deputy. Because of the financial status of Adolph Roseby and his family, I assumed that they buried him in a County gravesite.

Mary Impossible Name
Nita,

I want to publically thank you for the info you sent about Mary. Words can't express how grateful I/we are. There are folks in four states doing happy dances, thanks to you. Because of your actions, a mystery that has plagued us for years has been solved.
