Since about 1990 I've been documenting my family genealogy and visiting the places my ancestors lived and are buried. What others have added here has helped me and I hope what I add can help others. Thank you to everyone who participates here.|

|Starfishin||RE: Your suggestion for my mother's memorial - Margaret Edmondson|
I've been interested in documenting the lives of women academics, particularly women of science. I've been also interested in the lives of women whose accomplishments were not all that they might have been, given the cultural constraints of the time, and making sure that what they achieved despite all odds are commemorated on their memorials (to that end I've also been contributing to the memorials of the wives of better-known men in the New Haven, Ct. area).
One resource for me is the historical archives of the American Astronomical Society. You can find the page with your mother's listing here: https://aas.org/obituaries/margaret-russell-edmondson-1914-1999
I thought this tribute was particularly special in recognizing not only your parents' partnership but in making the effort to recognize your mother's individual academic and intellectual accomplishments.
Well, I could ramble on. I was happy to pass the tribute on, and am glad that you found it meaningful.

I did some quick research and agree with you on her son, so I did send an Edit suggested change to her son's memorial owner, Judy. I did not have any luck on confirming Prentiss as her husband, and he is buried in a different cemetery. If you can find some documentation to confirm it, I will be glad to link her to him. Thanks!

I received your suggestion on Amy; the other memorial is a duplicate and I sent the owner a note to remove it.
As far as her husband and father, I prefer not to create a link unless it is confirmed that they are in fact related. If they were buried next to her that would be good enough for me. Unfortunately, when I photographed her headstone I did not photograph either of their headstones.

I'm happy to transfer the #138847596 if you wish.

Thank you for catching the duplicate memorials. The situation has been taken care of.
There is another memorial for Norma Jo on Find A Grave - Find A Grave Memorial# 61410401. It has the wrong birth year, which I believe is 1935. Norma Jo and I sat next to each other in 1st grade at Elm Heights School in Bloomington - and I was born in 1935.

Would you like a transfer?
Hi Margaret, I saw some pictures of Thomas Henry Hillier and Matilda Haines in the hints list on Ancestry. I was wondering if these are the same Hilliers and Haines that lived in Lancaster, NH. If so I am very excited to have found these pictures, as I have been hoping to find some for ages! Please contact me if you ever have more info or pictures on either of these families. Keep up the good work on Find a Grave.
