We are probably related
I sent you an email. We are related through Barsheba Harrington Smith Lusk. I come through her husband, David Smith, through their son, General James Smith and Hannah Parker Smith.

I would love to share and compare records with you. Many people have shared with me and I have been able to compile the records into a book which is free as a PDF online.

The Duke Bible
You can officially add me to the bible if you like. I have had my DNA done. Feel free to cross check me or ask questions. My name is Erin Conway Van Zante, I was born 3-8-1977 in Healdsburg, CA. My father was Mark Paul Duke, 9-17-1947, San Antonio, TX. He was the son of Clayton Bowden Duke, born 7-25-1922 to Anna Russell Johnson and Clayton Bowden Duke Sr. also in San Antonio. I would love to see any photos, as 2 of my 3 girls have the "Duke chin" which they got from me. I am a double image of my father. I did not put my mother's name here, because there has been some interesting papers and letters saved by both my mother and grandmother that conflict with what I have been told. I was not connected with anyone on my mother's side of the tree on ancestry or GEDmatch. So, until that gets sorted out, my legal mother's name was Lavonne Conway Van Zante, born in 1949 San Francisco. I also have found a sister in the last year, and we took a half sibling test to confirm. My email is: and my GEDmatch kit# is A417050

Memorial #76529729
Hi – I see that you posted the memorial for Dollie Tehoma (DUKE) DUKE and that you are also on Richard GAINEY’s emailing list, so I take it you are kin to this family. My aunt, Verna (INGRAM) McKISSICK, corresponded with Dollie for years about our families – Dollie even came to visit the family here in Georgia at least once - and we know Dollie had an old family Bible with records in it. From “Against Oblivion,” the history of Calhoun County, Georgia, published in 1994, p. 240: “Children of Shadrack DUKE and Dicy DUKE (all birth records are from the Shadrack DUKE Bible in possession of the estate of Dollie Tahoma DUKE of Tulsa, Oklahoma.) 12 children. . .” I am currently working on my SAR candidacy and so need to get copies of those records. Do you happen to know of anyone who might have copies of those records, or better yet, who would now be in possession of that Bible? Thank you – Peter in Columbus, Georgia

Would appreciate any information you have. Thank you so much. I am not sure where you will answer this question. My name is Sara Jane Armstrong on ancestry.coom

Martin David Armstrong
After our wonderful conversation I researched even more diligently. One think I found that I wondered if you knew was: Martin David Armstrong had a brother Wiley Yancy Armstrong who was the 2nd husband of Rosetta Rosey Plunk whose daughter Annie Pearce (by her 1st marriage) was the wife of Jack Monroe Armstrong. They named their son George Yancey. I think this is the Jack Armstrong you were telling me about.

Nellie Scott Arnold Armstrong Rice
I am working on my Oklahoma/Texas ARNOLD family and Nellie was the wife of George M.Arnold . Her 2nd husband was Martin David Armstrong. According to census records they had 2 children William & Viva. I have found Viva and documented her but I only see William ( unknown middle name) in the 1910 census records. Any info on him?
I saw your wonderful flower tributes to Martin Armstrong and thought they were from someone who knew and loved this family. On his death record it lists him as Mart is this a nickname you know of?
Did Nellie and Martin divorce? She married again to a Rice
Did he remarry to a Rosie?
This is a long branch on my tree .
Thank you for any help
Your cousin by marriage ( so far )

Curtis Narvin Copeland
There is a Curtis N Copeland buried in this cemetery; do you know if this is Mandy and James's son? I can submit an edit to link them if so.

John Williamson Deed
Hello Lynda,
We have corresponded before about our Williamson and Twomey ancestors.

I would really like to get a copy of the John Williamson deed where he received 333 acres from William B. Twomey.

I also recently saw the transcript of the obituary for William Barrack Twomey (Jr.) and wondered if that was the basis for you using the middle name of Barrack instead of Barrett, as you used in the family group sheets for the Twomey family you shared with me previously.
One of my other cousins is applying for membership in the 1812 Society using our ancestor Williamd B. Twomey, Sr. He needs help in deciding what the middle name should be. The obituary for his son seems to clarify the choice of Barrack, but I wondered if you had more information to back this up.

I look forward to hearing from you.
