I took over after my Aunt Geraldine Martinez passed. This is all new to me but I have become addicted in finding where my family members rest. No one should be forgotten.|
I was born in Alexandria, Virginia and now resides in Florida.
I am researching, on my fathers side of the family, Rhodes, Walters, Wright & Brockman in Virginia. On my mothers side, Lytle, Channing, Hayden & Moore in Pennsylvania. And for my Grandchildren, Greene, Caudill. Hutchinson & Vallance's in Kentucky.
I have noticed that I am not the only one impatient with the tokens coming up and I end up with two. I found that if you click on the flowers it will take you to a link to delete the extra one. =)
I have also found a link to calculate birth dates, so when you only have a date of death & the headstone gives you their years it will give you the date of birth. http://longislandgenealogy.com/birth.html
I have met the most wonderful people with Find-a-Grave. What a great family we have here. Thank you all for doing what you do.
Everyone has been so generous with their photos that I would like to reciprocate. You may use my photos in you family trees. All I ask is recognition from whom you got them.
Happy Hunting =)
"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.
But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"
Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

|Laura Coffell||RE: Samuel Brockman I|
My Coffell and Redding family tree on Ancestry
is open to the public. Mom's Smith side is Oaks, Walters, Parsons etc. Dad's Redding side is the
Brockman, Patterson, Weston etc.
From doing my DNA about 5 yr. ago, I found out
that, unknown to my parents they were long-dis
tantly related by about 376 years on the Redding side, and 274 years from the Glass surname in
Banbridge, Downs, N. Ireland. Their ancestors
seemed to move to the same general area through the years. I'd also like to look at your family tree. Laura in Kansas

I am also a direct descendant of Isaac Peabody. He is my 8x Great Grandfather twice. Once Through his son Joseph and once through his daughter Hepsibah. I would invite you to join my Face Book Group page titled Peabody Ancestry. I have some really nice photos of everything Peabody....including one picture of where the grist mill once stood in Topsfield. Other members of our group shared lots of photos of the Peabodys who moved out west. Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or on Facebook under my name, Mary Louise Bingham.
|Alicelth||Ref Daniel Sickles|
If you click on the link "Help with Find A Grave" under Actions to the upper left of any Find A Grave Page, you'll get all the FAQs. The second link is "Help..I have a question. How do I contact Find A Grave." That will give you a group of emails to contact various departments of Find a Grave. Since Daniel Sickles is a "Famous" grave, I'd use that one. Make sure you cite his memorial number and say exactly what you'd like to have added. Not sure if it will work, but give it up to 21 days. If not, then might want to submit again. Good luck.

|Alicelth||Flower - Daniel Sickles|
The info you left with the flower for Daniel Sickles should really be sent to Find A Grave for inclusion in the biography section. Maybe some of the biographies will have more info on the children so they can be linked from their memorials to their father.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I couldn't seem to find a chance to get back to the cemetery to answer your questions. There is another side of the monument with words on it but I couldn't make it out. I will try to add the picture of that side to the page for Charles. Sadly a lot of the markers in the cemetery are illegible or possibly missing.
