The vast majority of pages I've added to Find-a-Grave are for strangers. I'm always happy to transfer pages to people who know something about these strangers. If you would like for me to transfer a page to you, please let me know (preferably by clicking on "edit" and then "suggest correction" since that will provide both a link to the page and a link to your contributor page with the necessary ID# for the transfer). NOTE: I AM TALKING ABOUT ANY PAGE ANYBODY WANTS (except for the very small number of pages I've created for my own relatives). I do not care how close kin you are or whether you are kin at all. I see no point in keeping a page for somebody I know nothing about when somebody out there does have a connection of some kind -- any kind.|
I live in Jackson (Hinds County), Mississippi, and love "graving," whether here in central Mississippi or in other places when I'm traveling. If you find errors in my listings, please send me corrections.
A note about photo requests: If you make a request for Lakewood Memorial Park, Lakewood South, or Cedar Lawn, please include the section and plot number.

|Adm. Roy D. Pope, Jr (ALNM)||Thanks for the Transfers|
Thank you for the transfers of my two ancestors. I didn't realize that you also had my 2nd great grandfather's memorial. I sincerely appreciate the initiative you took to transfer him to me when you transferred my 2nd great grandmother.

Natalie, this was recently transferred to me as I had found that he and his parents were not connected and I wanted to do so. I am trying to add that he had five sisters but with the exception of his youngest I have no idea what their married names are and thus have been unable to find internments for any of them. My question is where should I put what information that I do have? Betty Williamson

Hi Natalie, thanks for all that you do! I uploaded an updated pic of the McGowen cemetery at Byram, MS. It was approved. Is it possible we can get rid of the other pic, it looks awful and was taken in a period of time when it hadn't been cared for? It is currently in great shape and we, the family, will soon be adding a historical marker to it. Also, is there a way to add the history of the cemetery to its listing? Thanks, David B. McGowan Jones, GG Grandson of Dr. Russell Martin McGowen. You can reply here or contact me directly at email@example.com

I figured as much. The small grave count initially made me think it was a small plot. Some of them are pretty old, the oldest burials in the late 1800s. I will probably do New Friendship church down the road as well. It doesn't have a graveyard listing at all and there appears to be about 100 graves.

|April||Mountain Ridge UMC|
I live in Rankin County close to Shiloh Park. I'm quite interested in genealogy (in fact, working on my DAR application), and have started fulfilling local photo requests here at findagrave.
I did a few out at Shiloh UMC this weekend and decided to stop by Mountain Ridge UMC on my way home. Online, it said there were only 4 graves with all nearly photographed. Anyway, I discovered there are hundreds of graves. I started the first part, logging the names and dates on the headstone. I have at least 50 left to go. The next step will be photographing them once there is a record to tie the photo to...
I noticed you had photographed the preliminary signage, any interest on helping with photos? :)
