Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Northern Indiana and am very interested in the Civil War. One of my hobbies is to visit the graves of Indiana Civil War Soldiers. To date, my dad and I have visited over 1,960 cemeteries and have found the grave sites of over 37,200 Indiana Soldiers, as well as some 9,000 soldiers from states other than Indiana. We have also located the grave sites of over 1,700 Confederate soldiers buried in the Hoosier state. I am also trying to find the grave sites of all of Indiana's Civil War Colonels. I am also interested in the 8th Indiana Infantry, Company I, and the 12th Indiana Infantry. I am also looking for every Chaplain that served in an Indiana Regiment in the Civil War. If you know of any grave sites you think I may have missed, or have some interesting information, don't hesitate to contact me. I am also working on a book about Indiana's soldiers that died during the Civil War. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are looking for a Hoosier that served in the civil war send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help in any way. Currently, I'm also trying to locate every Civil War veteran in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and upload them to Find-A-Grave. I am also a Christian, and look forward to life after the grave. Thanks.

Pvt. Emanuel Wolf
I wanted to thank you for your service to the veterans of the GAR, as well as the CSA boys. I recently visited Emanuel's gravesite on Memorial Day. Captured at Chickamauga, he did some hard time in prison, either Libby and/or Belle Isle in Richmond. The infirmities he suffered for the rest of his life were a direct result of his service to his country. Thank you again for putting him on this site. I have never seen the photo of a younger Emanuel before. I am going to share this tribute with my whole family.
Best regards,
Marc Bowers

Mitchell Z. Brown
Hi Eric, you posted a photo of my great-grandfather, Mitchell Z. Brown (#36431092) from the Indiana Book of Merit to his memorial page. I was curious to know if you had access to that book and what other information may be within it. I know that he earned a Silver Star, but I am not exactly sure for which action. Any information would be appreciated.

The headstone inscriptions are pretty accurate, but now and then go awry. I usually submit an edit with the inscription but I suspected this one was in error. The home record obviously trumps the stone when you can match it to the cemetery plot (which we can!).

Best regards,

RE: Michael Landry
You're Welcome. Also, I normally try to get a close-up and wide shot of each memorial, but for Peter Lavell it got dark on me and I ran out of time, so I only got the close-up. I'll try to get a wide shot the next time I am out there.
