I enjoy visiting and photographing cemeteries in memory of my parents, who spent some of their dating time in the late 1930's walking old cemeteries. My goal is to include as much information with each memorial as possible, to include photos and obituaries when available, and to honor each person as more than a name and date in a cemetery.|
The obituaries that I have attached to the memorials are listed at the Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, Ga. website
and permission for use granted to me by Rick Bostelman of Paulk Funeral Home. All credit is ascribed to that website.
Many of the memorials I will be listing are from cemeteries near my home and are not necessarily my relatives. If you would like a memorial transferred to you, please let me know.
Wind Whispers round the rows of stone,
In this silent place.
As I humbly stand in awe,
Of the joy and tragedy they faced.
Brothers and sisters, not bone of my bone
Ancestors to us all.
As I travel miles to record each name and date,
I pray for a steady eye, hand and grace,
To honor the memory of a Mother, a Father,
A Precious Day Old Child.
Then send it forth in cyberspace,
Where forever more the

I am Diamond E. Sanford Jr. This headstone is my grandfather, but I don't know where the middle initial "V" is coming from. The "V" doesn't appear on the headstone and I have never heard of what is middle name was or might have been. I would appreciate any information you could provide.
Thank you. My email is... firstname.lastname@example.org

Amanda V. Nicholson Varndell (1837-1911) was Harry T. Varndell's mother not spouse. His father was Henry "Harry" Varndell (1844-1903). Henry is buried in Pennsylvania because he became ill and did not move to GA with members of the family. Harry was their eldest son. His siblings were George W., Christopher Daniel, Charles A., Westana B. 1/2 siblings were Letitia, Mary, and Rachel.

Willis C. Gray born 1819 son of Gibson Gray, married Mary Ann (Vann) Roberts October 9, 1852 by J. E. Bass J.P.
Willis C. did have children before this wedding date.-no mention of their mother's name.
This info obtained from "A Gray Family History" by Emily Martin. pages 50, 51 and 52.
I did not see a death date on Willis C. Gray's grave-and have found no record of that.
|June Harper||Mary Luke|
Please move Mary Luke from Irwin County Luke Cemetery to Ben Hill County Luke Cemetery.
