RE: Rough Memorials
Thank you.

My maiden name was Rough. I am related to most of the individuals buried at Portage Prairie Cemetery in Michigan and many at the Portage Prairie Cemetery in Indiana. I have been researching my family history for about 18 years now. I appreciate all you have done and continue to do. I no longer live in Berrien County. I grew up in Berrien Springs. I now live in Memphis, TN. I visit Berrien County twice a year as my entire family still lives there. I, too, am a volunteer with Find-A-Grave. We both have the same goals… to preserve our cemeteries and the information they contain as well as not forgetting the people buried there.

My family line is as follows in case you are related to the Rough family.

Me – Sue (Rough) Freeman
Parents – Charles Elson Rough and Esther Pauline Heimbuch
Grandparents – Elson William Rough and Lillian Magdalene Feather
1st GG – William Pierce Rough and Prudence Mae Seider
2nd GG – William Rough and Mary Ann Housewerth
3rd GG – John R Rough and Elizabeth Swartz
4th GG – John Rauch and Margaret Walmer (Margaret was the 1st burial in PP Cemetery in Michigan)

Hope to hear from you.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if I have created memorials that you have some interest in. I am always more than happy to transfer them into the hands of someone who cares. Cheers.

I visited Ohio this past week ...I only found Malachi & his wife headstone...but to the left is alot of lots...I believe Thirza, her father,John Madison & mother Anna Scott & some of Thirza's siblings are buried there. I walked the entire cemetery several other lots they could be buried on...Also N.Bumgardner & wife Sarah buried in the middle of this small cemetery...have you been there & could this be there final resting place?
