Fite Family
I added a photo of the gravestone for Charles R. Fite, his wife, Helen Powers Fite, and his son, Lee Powers Fite. Lee's grave is located right next to his mother, Helen Powers Fite.

This is the Charles Fite we all called "chicken".

Memorial for JW Holloway 21261302
I have gathered all of my information on Walter and others and submit the below for your consideration. I have searched for years for information on my grandmother, Alice Anthony, so with that said please consider the following. I will compact the facts as needed.

1. As entered on the Find A Grave Monument for J.W. Holloway, Find A Grave # 21261302

“The following information is from research submitted by V. Flesher:
I believe J.W. is Walter J, and is a nephew of John F, who I believe to be the father of the two little children, Rollie and Mamie. I had found John F and family in 1880 in Milan, then his widow was in AL and then in CA.

John F and Guston born in TN, their parents in VA.”

2. The following information is provided for reference and/or consideration in lieu of that published for this memorial. Source information, where available can be provided. 21 Sep 2016. Lee R Bandy, grandson of Alice C Anthony.

1880 United States Federal Census (USFC), Residing in Gibson Tennessee is Guston H Holloway age36, Nanie [Nannie] wife age 24, a son Walter J, age 4 and a daughter Pearlie age 1.

1900 USFC, Walter Jefferson HOLLOWAY aged 23 years, is single and living in Milan with his parents Gus and Nannie and three sisters, Iris, Lula and Ollie D, and a brother Elmer. At this time his future wife; Alice C ANTHONY is at home in Dyer County with her husband John BANDY, daughter Bertha [1891] and a son William S BANDY [1899].

In 1902, the Bandy’s have another son, Herbert M BANDY [1902].

1903, Sep 5th, Alice Bandy marries J.W. HOLLOWAY in Gibson Tennessee, and at this time her daughter Bertha now aged 12 years, her son William now aged 4-years and her youngest child Herbert is 15-months old. There is no discovery for cause of separation of her marriage to John Bandy; neither divorce or death separation.

1903 to 1910 Three HOLLOWAY children are born: daughter Florence [1905], son Teddy [1906] and daughter Reba [1909]

1910 USFC, Walter head of the household and wife Alice are renting a farm in Gibson Tennessee. They have been married 6-years and have 5-children in the household. The 2-oldest are Bandy stepsons: William [1899] and Herbert [1902]. The other 3-children are Holloway: daughter Florence [1905], son Teddy [1906] and daughter Reba [1909]. Alice states for the census record that she birthed 6-children, all living. The 6th child missing from the mix is Walter’s stepdaughter, Bertha Bandy [1891]. She is now aged 19-years and is not residing within this household. Bertha will marry in 1912 to Jess Casey in Gibson Tennessee.

1918, Sep 18, under this name, “Walter Jefferson Holloway” has registered for the draft and is in residence in Milan, Gibson, Tennessee.

1920 USFC, Walter head of the household and wife Alice are renting a farm on the Milan-Atwood road, Gibson, Tennessee. They have been married 16-years and have 6-children in the household. The oldest is the stepson Herbert Bandy, age 18. The other 5-children are Holloways’: daughter Florence -15, son Teddy-13, daughters Reba-11 andParis-9, and son Paul now aged 4-years. The Bandy stepson William is now aged 21-years and is not in the family group.

1930 USFC record for Walter and Alice Holloway [Hollaway/Holladay/Hollaways/Hallaway] has not been found; however,
a record of Walter’s family group members living in Detroit, Michigan: Stepson William [wife Nellie, Son Charles Ray, daughter Mary Alice] along with stepson Herbert Bandy. Reba Holloway also is in residence with this family group. A non-relative Ray Robins is a boarder.

1933, Paris Nell HOLLOWAY marries Stephen Lamar WHITE in Pensacola, Escambia, Florida.

1940 USFC, Walter J Holloway, head of household resides with his son Ted and daughter [Paris] Nelle in a rental home in Milan, Gibson, Tennessee. The record states that Walter is married but his wife Alice’s name is not in the record. A pencil line mark is struck through the “M” for marriage. Walter and his son Ted, who is single, both resided in this same place in 1935; however, in 1935 Nell is listed as single and resided in Nashville, Davidson Co. See 1933 marriage information for her.

1965. Jefferson Walter [JW] HOLLOWAY died in the Douglas Nursing Home, Milan, Gibson Co, Tennessee on July 21, 1965; Interment on July 26, 1965 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan Tennessee. Transfer of Memorials for Blanks Surname
My name is James R. Blanks, living in Tullahoma, Coffee Co, TN. I have been working on the Blanks Families that lived in West Tennessee. I am interested in getting a memorial transfer for two individuals buried in the Oakwood Cemetery; Milan, Gibson Co. TN which are currently in your name. The two I am interested in are:

William W. Blanks (1851-1906) # 38524725

Sarah Alice Blanks (1859-1908) # 38524666

I have additional data on this couple and know of the links to additional family members. Your attention to this request would be appreciated.

Walter Jefferson HOLLOWAY, 21261302, et al
My name is Lee Bandy, I am the grandson of Alice C ANTHONY Bandy Holloway, wife of JW/Walter/Walter Jefferson HOLLOWAY.

I would like to suggest corrections to the Bio record for Walter's memorial. I do have links to support my information. Without success I have been in search of my grandmother's death and burial information for many years, so it is critical to me that the bio for Walter reflect the correct history for his family group in Tennessee.

My grandmother Alice had (8) Children and in this order:
(3) BANDY: Bertha, William and Herbert [my father]
(5) HOLLOWAY: Florence, Teddy, Reba, Paris and Paul.

Please advise your thoughts.

Passion King Dorsett
Both pieces of information attached to Passion should actually be attached to Person King Dorsett Created by: Inquisitus, Record added: Nov 13, 2011
Find A Grave Memorial# 80365153

Person King Dorsett (born 11 June 1824) was the father of William Elisha Dorsett even though his death certificate lists Passion. Passion was born in Dec. 17, 1880 and William Elisha Dorsett Birth Date: 17 Nov 1849.

Person was also the one married to Nancy J Lowry. If this is confusing please send me an email to

Thank you,

RE: Senter Family
Hi! My mother and I traveled to Humboldt and Medina today to search cemeteries for my mother's relatives. Her great grandfather was Neil Alexander Senter of Humboldt. His parents were James and Flora Senter and they are buried in the Wright's Chapel Cemetery. We finally found their gravesites, which are now buried in weeds and are hard to find. We were very excited to do so!

My mother's family included the Jarrell's of Humboldt. Her grandmother, Grace Senter (daughter of Neil Alexander Senter) married B.C. Jarrell. Neil Alexander and many other Senter relatives are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Do you have any additional information about James and Flora McNeill Senter?

Thank you so much for your photos and information.
