Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an avid genealogy/history buff who was born and raised in Northwest Iowa, but now live in Northern California. I grew up in a small town where we always took shortcuts through the cemetery on the way home from school. The memorials always intrugued me, especially the older ones.

As I continue working on ALL my family histories I have found findagrave to be very helpful in locating family members. It is especially helpful to me when the obituaries are posted and I am making it my personal goal to help provide obituaries for the cemeteries I am most connected with in Iowa. If I send you an obituary transcript, please feel free to share it.

Findagrave provides a very valuable service to history and genealogy researchers. 20 years ago I walked the Dedham Cemetery in Iowa with my mom; this year I went back and discovered that many of the stones I photographed then have disappeared or are illegible. Such a shame, but time marches on. To have this information recorded on findagrave insures that those who came before us live on.

I welcome corrections/additions to memorials I have posted and will be happy to transfer those to whom I am not related to those who are direct descendents.

RE: Joseph H. Wilson
Hello. Sorry for taking so long to get back with you, my only excuse is I had to get a new computer.

The only other information I have about the Wilson family is the following:

"Joseph "Deacon" Wilson was employed by the Mike Elmore grading crew in 1889 as they graded the bed for the B & M railroad thru Newcastle, Gillette and areas west"

And that Anna's father was Bat Mullen.

I became interested in the family and tried researching them for my work at the museum here in Gillette after seeing the headstone for little Mary Frances. I had never seen a headstone with a dead dove figure carved on the top of a child's headstone. Sorry that I couldn't be more help.

You sent me a link to a Perry Hampton buried in Iowa. There is a Perry Hampton buried in Packard Cemetery in Mo. Are you sure the one you sent me to link to is correct?

RE: Ora King.
Thanks for that suggestion. I think I will link them in the memorial. It has been so long since I used to do that, I forgot about it! geo

Ora King.
Thanks for that information on her birth parents. I did not link her to her parents but I added what you sent. Not sure what the right thing to do is. If family find the memorial and wants it changed, I can do that. Geo

I have transferred the 5 memorials that I created for this family to you. I am not related and you know more than I do about them. Thanks for all your work!
