Not much to say. I live in Seattle, and grew up here in the Pacific Northwest. |
I was a dedicated bookworm until I got hooked on genealogy about 10 years ago. Now I spend all my free time researching on the Internet. FindAGrave has helped fill in a few blanks, and I appreciate the volunteers who have added photos and other information.
As time permits, I hope to contribute some of my own gravestone photos to this website.
Surnames of interest: Aird, Balmer, Clark, Collver, Flynn, Haining, Harrower, Maglone, McGill, Moore, Moser, Powell, Richmond, Waggoner, and White.

I am sorry, I should have checked Albert's site. The youngest son is actually, William 'McDonald' Troutman, and was always called Don.
Albert died of cancer and you are probably right most likely in a hospital, although, in those years, people were cared for and died at home, The info. below is from Dorothy's sister, Phyllis, who has written her Memoirs.
Ernest came to Maupin, OR and worked as a mechanic in owned by Edward Fischer, Dorothy's father. After they were married, Dorothy and Ernest moved to a homestead on Hungry Ridge about 12 miles SE of Maupin. They developed it into one of the largest sheep ranches of that day. They sold to another large sheep rancher and built up a general merchandise and building supply store in Maupin, supplied heating oil to town people, and bought homes for rental income. They eventually owned most of the small town of Maupin. In her later years, Dorothy moved to Portland to be near her daughter, Phyllis.
I don't think Ernest and Dorothy ever lived in The Dalles because of their interest in Maupin. I also hope you feel inspired to add this information to Ernest site.
Thank you again,
Lynette Sholes Baker
Thank you for the changes. I understand about Phyllis, but you can add her in the notes until she is added to find a grave. I know where she is buried, but it is over 300 miles away from me.
I added my 2 living aunts to my grandparents memorials. That way, if I am gone, someone can add them when they pass.
I appreciate your doing this.
Lynette Sholes Baker
Ms Haining, My great aunt was Dorothy Marie Fischer, wife of Albert Ernest Troutman. I noticed a few errors in the information you posted about his family and would appreciate corrections.
Wife- Dorothy Marie Troutman
Daughter- Phyllis Marjorie Troutman Garner
His memorial # is 36458701 Please add as a child.

Sorry...I had the wrong Robert.

I can see why there is a duplicate of the memorial....this would not have come up with the names of the surname spellings different in the alpha search on findagrave...although I have put someone in before and know they are there and a few days later comes info says not there and I end up searching for hours until the electronic formatting got something...it is the way with the electronics...but hey a pencil and paper would have not been any better as the spellings of the name. I am going to delete mine. She generally sends a message I have duplicated a memorial and think for the most part she pays attention to the duplicates...I sent her an e mail once or twice and told her would not delete one or two as they were two different people with similar info and dates and have told her would not duplicate one but sent to findagrave and ask to have them merged as they were in two different cemeteries made by me and another person, names a bit off...not a clue how she figured them out as dupes, but had to agree, both had photos of stones...so I sent info to findagrave and had them merged....sent he info here some time ago had asked for one to be merged with another, and many times when I go to the memorials that booklover says are duplicated I just delete mine after looking at both, checking one against the other dates, etc. if find mine in error for whatever reason then delete it....they have lost a few photos of stones and some information. But see you do not want this one lost for info and I can see why. I will send the info that I have on mine in an edit and you may copy and paste what you need. Generally she would have sent me e mail saying I duplicated and I would simply have removed/deleted mine. I do not contact the other person. Odd she did it this way this time. But may be that she will get around to sending me one as well...think she must have mine on fast forward edit by now have gotten so many of them over the last few months....heavens knows why she is doing it if she is findagrave clean up crew or just looking and doing on her own for own reasons. I did tell her once be darn glad when she was finished with all mine and did not get another e mail from her. She never responds to what I send back.

Thank you for the location of Jeffrey's birth and death. If you are a family member I'd be happy to transfer his Find A Grave memorial over to you. Again thank you for the additional information. Candie Rogers

I try to document more now where I find information (or have it sent to me), but cannot remember the source in this instance.

You definitely have my permission to use this photo. I took it one morning, when the sun was coming up and hit a beam of sunlight hit just the grave.
|William||Raymond Elbert Hayes|
Thank you for providing details about Raymond Elbert Hayes (#20850477) and his first marriage and children. I have added what you sent me. Are you related to Raymond?

We do not have an obit for Florence. I will see if I can locate the source for this memorial. One of our members' health is failing and he is now in the care of his family.
