Bio and Links
Bio Photo I grew up in Clinton S.C. and currently live in Owosso, Mi. I work as a nurse. I love dogs- I have 3 who are my babies. I love to read and enjoy playing piano and flute.Am currently learning to play the violin-at 60 years of age! I love walking through cemetaries and since I found find a grave I spend hours browsing through this. I have found this gives me a chance to visit my parent's graves since i live so far away and can't visit like i should.
I collect books on ghosts and i am trying to get books of ghosts stories from different states and countries- real stories- not made up ones so if anyone has any books from your area on ghosts email me and i will be glad to pay you and send you my address!
New changes in my life- as of Dec 1,2008 I retired from work!!!!!And I really enyoy it!
Since i started this profile I have retired from work and love it.I lost one of my 3 dogs this past June- myBrittany who was my favorite,I am 63 -well 64 nov 28- now.Have been to South Carolina quite a few times since I have retierd.Still love my ghost stories and got to spend a night in a haunted bed and breakfast in Story Indianna!Did not see a ghost but did hear things and had items moved around during the night!!!
2016- new updates on my last update I had just lost my Brittany- well lost another this past June- one of my Cocker Spaniels, Casey- he was 11 yrs old and broke my heart- also broke his sisters heart really bad- they were raised together- same age but six weeks apart- same father but different mothers- she was grieving so that in August I adopted a four month old puppy from the humane society- a lab/Akita mix- beautiful dog and my Lacey acts like a puppy again! Even tho the new one is twice her size she is the boss! They get along great! I am also enjoying my music- still learning violin and play flute in two groups at the music institute plus private piano lessons- besides that volunteer with Red Cross. I have gone to a number of different states helping with national disasters so I stay busy

Hello again Patricia, Hope all is well, that's terrific that you are learning violin, and other musical instruments, that was on my bucket list but have not done that yet..a few other issues I need to resolve first..You asked regarding where I reside, it is an adult 55 + community (active)and the homes are modular ones, all one story with 2-3 bedrooms as well as 1-2 car garage choice and usually 2 bathrooms, prices range from $150,000 to $190,000 I believe. The west calls them patio homes and are gaining in popularity since many live to their 80's and 90's it makes sense.

Did you ever google to locate what you were looking for in SC? I know these homes are really cheap in FL as this is largely a senior state and they make their state money, taxes are very cheap.
I have heard of Tribute Homes in SC, listed as coastal communities, they begin at $150,000 which I think is very affordable, why don't you google that info ... they can send info or just go on-line..

Can I ask what you mother's maiden name was..how are we connected exactly, was she a Martin, a Bullock, a Prince or a Gore, Hardee, I have more. Also feel free to send me your response directly to my e-mail, saves an extra step.

RE: Connection!
Hello again Priscilla, hope all is well..I like chatting with you and as far as the never-ending fascination that we both have with the paranormal this could go on forever, lol ! Do you ever watch: Ghost Adventurers, Ghost Hunters (stopped watching when I found out there was some fakery involved) also My Haunted House, Paranormal Lockdown, When Ghosts Attack, and The Dead Files ? I loved watching Haunting Evidence, but that ended in 2008.

Heard about the Lending Libraries, I even looked it up near the closest town of Saratoga Springs, and they appear to be for children only..which is no big deal since the large public library is within the same vicinity. I have purchased books and ordered books from Amazon on the sbject of Ghosts, paranormal, etc. and as always can always order paper back books since they are generally inexpensive with Amazon & Ebay Plus free shipping. I too am fascinated with the Civil War. I have one book that I cannot wait to read called:
Ghosts and Haunts of the Civil War
by Christopher Coleman.
I still recommend:
The Hand on the Mirror | A True Story of Life Beyond Death - thehandonthemirror.org/
I LOVED that book because it is a first hand account of personal experience..I noticed there was a website so I am sending it toy you and apparently Janis has a FB page as well sharing her experience..

Well I have to go, finishing up moving into Shelley Park (an active 55+ community with lovely single level manufactured homes, been here almost 4 weeks now..

Enjoy the rest of your week-end..Keep in Touch !
Fondly,

Sandy

RE: Connection!
Good Morning Priscilla, It was wonderful that you answered me-thank you so much! Isn't retirement great, to do what you want and when you want is an amazing freedom, isn't it ? I am so hooked on ghost stories/books and just finished an amazing book called: l that I have just finished a couple of months ago is titled: The Hand On the Mirror - true and modern day ghost story that really took place written by a newspaper executive from the San Francisco Chronicle ( I think that's the paper) but anyway I could not put it down titled:
-The Hand on the Mirror: Life Beyond Death
(Paperback)
by Janis Heaphy Durham / it was excellent ..

Other excellent books are:
- Ghosthunter Eddie Burks & Gillian Cribbs
Look him up on the internet, amazing guy, he has sinced passed. When the library does not provide a book (and you know you can request books from every library to be sent to your local library) I will then order them through Amazon because the paperbacks are as low as $2.00(just need to pay S&H usually about $3.99 per item).

-Ghost by Katherine Ramsland .. also excellent..

-Ghosts Among us/ Ghosts from Coast to Coast/
When the Ghost Screams all by Leslie Rule

Check your local library first and access Amazon and look at papaer backs titled (New and Used) you can get quite a deal !
Please stay in touch my email is:
spgawin517@yahoo.com I am on facebook also under my name.

Fondly yours,
Sandra

Connection!
Hello Priscella !
I felt I had to respond in view of our shared flowers..My great grandmother was daughter of Ransom Mabury Prince (Eliza Adele). With all the research I've done, my grandmotehr Bessie Martin Bullock was spot on so much of her research, not bad for a mere 3rd or 4th grade education! Am so proud of her tenacious spirit and still cling to her laboriously accurate notes; her family members date to 1802 for her husband (Bullock-Gore) and her own genealogy. Her line from the Princes date back to pre-Revolutionary and Nicholas R Prince, Jr was in the Revolutionary War as confirmed by Payroll stubs in the military and his pension as well (It was many years before these brave men received anything and often died before receiving anything OR their families.

Anyway Priscilla, I too am a retired nurse and spend much of my time doing my ancestry. I am happily married with 2 grown terrific sons and have pushed them to get their dna done for their own posterity.

Thought I would just say hello and hope you are doing well, would love to meet with you sometime, but I live in upstate NY and also year to go to SC! Guess it's my roots calling me. Would love to keep in touch, email is:
spgawin517@yahoo.com

I also love ghost stories and the paranormal since I have had some unsettling experiences happen to me (dreams/premonitions, etc) I read everything on the topic as well!

Warmest regards,
Sandra McIntyre Gawinski

Down to the final 4 rows. Lost the light just before I could get it all finished tonight.

Another 56 memorials that weren't listed added this weekend. I think that makes a total of 167 that were missing from FindaGrave.
