FAG has changed its policy regarding member copyright. Though I don't like that they did not continue to protect the copyright of their contributors in regards to Ancestry.com usage there is not much I can do about it. I STILL retain copyright to my photos and do not give permission for them to be republished in any form. That means NO to FamilySearch, that means NO to your personal webpage, that means NO to any other use by you other than attaching to your private family tree in your private family tree files on your computer. You may not use my photos to publish your book, send to family etc.
Whether you understand or agree with me about this matter or not, I have the right to make that choice for my work. I will not argue copyright with you.
***Transfer Request Rules LINK***
Please use the edit tab at the top right of the memorial you are referring to when sending updates, links and transfer requests.
(Please take the time to read the transfer request rules by following the link above). For the most part, I adhere to the transfer guidelines. I do NOT add link to a burial unknown memorial. This is FINDAGRAVE folks! Not "List Everyone Who Ever Died"!
I HAVE COMPLETED PHOTOGRAPHING AND ADDING PHOTOS TO EXISTING MEMORIALS AND NEW MEMORIALS IN-
CHEWELAH MEMORIAL PARK
SAINT MARY OF THE ROSARY
SAINT FRANCIS REGIS MISSION
CULLY MEMORIAL Cully may have some un-photographed stone due to heavy coverage of bushes, vines, Iris etc. I did my best but this was a hard one.
CEMETERIES AND ADDED ALL STONE INFORMATION AND PHOTOS.
NOTE: FAG FAQ say not to add cut and paste obituaries. In trying to comply with this rule I have turned down adding obituaries that have been sent to me. It has become apparent that FAG is adding these obits when people send them to edit@. Since FAG admins are adding I will too. Remove the names of the living before sending the obituary per FAG's "other" rule and the obituary must have attribution too.
NOTE 2: Before there was a rule against it. I added many obituary scans to memorials from our local newspaper from the early 1900. I have now attempted to go back and transcribe all of these into the bio area. Unfortunately it is very difficult to find ones that are not on my own memorials. If you find one please bring it to my attention and I will transcribe it and send it to the memorial manager. Thank you for your help.

Would you please change the spelling of her middle name to May instead of Mae? Her granddaughter just informed me that she was named after Nellie May Hill Uribe and would like the spelling changed on her memorial. Thanks.

Well, obviously you don't read all the rules with Find A Grave. I don't agree with you that Find a Grave is not for linking family family trees - it is probably one of the best sources for genealogy out there. Probably why Ancestry.com bought the site.
What if someone was cremated or does not have a traditional 'grave'?
Find A Grave believes everyone deserves to be remembered equally and have built the site to support common alternative dispositions to traditional burial. This includes cremation, lost or buried at sea, and donated to medical science. Use the Family and Friends form to add a memorial using one of these alternatives to traditional burial. If there is a known cenotaph or memorial marker for one of these alternative dispositions located in a cemetery, add the memorial to the cemetery and add a note to the memorial indicating that it is a cenotaph and what, if known, happened to the individual's remains. If there is an existing cenotaph within a cemetery for someone who had a alternative disposition, do NOT add another memorial under the alternative disposition (such as Burial: Unknown, Body Lost, Cremation, Donation, Burial at Sea, Non-Cemetery).

You're welcome. Note also that I put in three additional Yorksons(Ester,Christena,Fred) and several Georgsons(Lars,Kirsten,Louie,Christine)
I have done some extensive research in regard to Obit and the newspaper's claiming copyrights on an obit.
This is a very questionable stance, DUE to the fact that the OBIT was NOT written by the newspaper, it was written by FAMILY of the deceased, so the copyright of said Obit belongs to the family. If this copyright law applied to everything in a newspaper, the owners of those paper would HAVE to get permission from every article written by a journalist and/or editor, when they desired to reference a previous article.
I do believe in eliminating living children, however one has to laugh at today's 'tech' by the shear fact that one CAN and DO get information on many living people and children through the use of social internet. Cheers and Happy Day

I have also seen memorials that have two different sets of information. I didn't know what to do with them so I just left them. Do you think that someone will fix them at Find A Grave? I am new to Find A Grave I don't know the politics or dynamics of what they do or don't do

Like I was saying it makes me really sad that they won't help find a grave. Thank you for adding a notation there for people not call them and get the same response I did.
She suggested I call the family but I don't feel comfortable doing that.
