We are a couple of old Retirees and are always |
looking for something to occupy our time.
We happend onto Find a Grave and got quite
interested. We are attempting to put as many
memorials from the Local Cemetery as we can.
We have worked with geneology quite a bit and this program seems to be right down our alley.
If anyone finds their relative that we have entered and would prefer to manage their own family just let us know and we will be glad to transfer them to any family member.
We do this to help others locate there loved ones and are glad to transfer any one that is not one of our family.
Anyone is welcome to use any photos that we have taken.
Dan & Barb

|Linda Simmons||Dan EllsworthSimmons|
Thank you for the memorial for Dan Simmons in the Olney Cemetery in Oregon. I just sent you an email in regard to his father Ralph Ellsworth Simmons, not realizing you are probably researching in a totally different area than the family members I was referencing 🙄
Of course, I'm still seeking help in finding those family graves in Wright, Webster counties in Missouri. Sorry to have bothered you. It's odd that death certificates often don't record where the body is to be buried, only the town.
Many thanks for your work!
|Natalie Woodall||James S. Brayton|
Hello! I am researching soldiers who served in the 147th Regiment NYSV, of whom James S. Brayton was one. Can you tell me what his stone says? I do not think this is a child's gravestone because of the clasped hands carved at the top. Is it possible the age is 42, not 12? When you were photographing his stone, did you happen to see a stone for his wife, Barbara? She applied for his pension in June 1889 but I know nothing else about her except that she apparently did not receive it. Any number of reasons is possible, but the most likely are she remarried or died. I will be most grateful for whatever you can tell me. Best wishes, Natalie J. Woodall, PhD

Thanks for transferring the Memorial for Elsie (Snider) Porter Ross Johnson. I have her connected to all 3 husbands now--they were all buried in the Olney Cemetery at Pendleton. Thanks again, Sharon Faith Glenn

Marion Sylvester Find A Grave# 58184953
Greetings, would you please add this obituary to his bio? It would mean alot to us all. Just use copy and paste. Thank you.
Marion Childers' parents, Robert and Emily Childers, remains are buried here in the cemetery near his own. He was born in Franklin County, Illinois in about 1852. Some of his family members can be seen in the counties 1860 U. S. Federal Census [Family Number 421].
Sylvester Marion Childers and Miss Josephine Jones were wed in Franklin County, Illinois on March 20, 1879. They brought into the world a son and daughter.
S. M. Childers' wife and daughter's remained are located back in Oregon. He had taken his family West to Salem in 1896, to successfully teach farming at the Chemawa Indian School [it is still operational in 2017]. He died of pneumonia, on 22 Oct 1903, in Salem, and his remains were escorted the next day by funeral procession to the train depot where they were then escorted back to Illinois for burial.
