Bio

James Eckel resides in Hagerstown, Md. He is the son of Lee R. Eckel and Elsie M. Hoover Eckel. James' Grandparents: Father's side - Jacob Eckel and Minnie M. Campbell Eckel then Green. Mother's side - Raymond W. Hoover and Lottie Barklow Hoover.

James retired from The Washington County School District after 42 years of service. In 1957, as an Artist/Illustrator, he helped pioneer the development of Instructional Television in the school district. In 1963-1967 He was employed by the University of Nebraska Educational Television Network. In 1989, he introduced computer illustration to the school district. During 1970-2000, He supervised the Graphic Arts Department, Instructional Television Dept., Publications Dept., and created and managed the School District's first Web Page.
