I cannot remember a time when I was not involved in family history. My mother and my paternal grandmother both spent a significant amount of time and energy researching their ancestry, and I grew up helping them. Both left records and files of their life's work with the responsibility to carry on. |
I suppose I have been actively involved for myself since 2000, continuing where my mother left off when she passed. In 1992, my husband and I helped to publish (for extended-family use) my mother's research under her direction – a book entitled "Blalock Beginnings" covering my maternal lines and centering on the southwest part of Mississippi but including the Plemmons line which led to Tennessee and North Carolina. Parts of this publication are available online with more soon to follow.
This site has been very helpful in linking generations of my ancestors from the Southern States (where my mother was born and spent her youth) to family in the West (where she married and spent most of her life). More than a researcher, I see my role as a bridge builder providing access to the records collected of the past through the efforts of many, to those who will come after seeking for answers.

I came across your page and noticed that you had uploaded a picture of Samuel Hadley. I am assuming that Samuel Hadley is my Great great great Grandfather. Billie H Hadley is my grandfather in which his father was Wilbur Hadley (Mary Lygia Hunsaker - wife). Are you related to this family? If so, do you know about the members of the family that are still alive?

Can you tell me what page in Dorothy Hadley's book "Our Blalock beginnings" the information is on for Katherine DeLee McGraw Blalock.
All I need is the the page number that indicates that Joseph Thomas McGraw was her father.
Let me know if you can help me.

I am researching the family lineage for a UDC application for Melinda Lee Blalock, a great granddaughter of Katherine DeLee McGraw Blalock, wife of John James Blalock. Do you have a copy of her Death Certificate? I am trying to locate a copy to see if her parents are listed on the Death Certificate. Is she mentioned in the Blalock book that you published? If so, does it mention her relationship to her mother and father?
Any help will be grealty appreciated. I can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Good job locating the marker for Eva Smart! I tried several times and had no luck.

Thank you for your message and for searching the area where his marker is supposed to be.
I am looking at the back of the marker application and it was signed by (I hope I am reading this correctly) John Gordon manager, 07-25-1948.
That should have been the manager of the cemetery at that date.
There was defiantly a marker installed by the cemetery at one time.
Again thank you for your search.

Hi, I have made the links and as you are related to the Rose's I have transfered the memorials to your care.
Diane, I have made the links. Thanks for the info. I will be glad to transfer all of these and any others I posted to you. I go to Liberty a couple of time a year and post cemetery info and photos if they are not posted. Thanks again, Amos
